Customer Review: What a COOL Scanner!

I first saw Neat Receipts on a tech show on HGTV. Thinking this could finally solve the paper jungle that lurking in my home office. Looked all over since it was new to market but found it on the shelf of a local office store. My wife said, why do you need that? Cause I want it, I replied as I ducked.
Made the purchase, got it home, and installed. Did not have any issue, was amazed of all the info it picked up and placed into the correct fields. NR was great about informing me of any updates. Always upgraded and was pleased every time! The only glitch I ran into was when I purchased a new laptop with Vista. At first NR was not supported by Vista, but was told there was an upgrade in the near future. Sure enough, they came through with a better upgrade. Problems solved.
My ever so skeptical wife asked me to install on her new computer and now swears by it! She even managed to let go of the paper. As far as speed, one reviewer said it took eight hours to scan 40 receipts. Don't know what kind of clock they were using. Sure if you have a boatload of receipts, it is going to take some time. Kind of fun getting organized and getting rid of all that paper. Searching for a receipt is just as easy.
Hats off to NR and their company, a job well done......

What a lifesaver. As a salesman, I am on the road constantly...and expense accounts have always been a problem. My wife finally asked me to get my own credit card and bank account to keep them seperate. And so far as my business...I have always recieved a 4.5 on my yearly reviews...never got the full 5.0 until I purchased the neat Receipts Profesional. My ding was always..."Late Expense Accounts" I have been known to be 9 months late before....Yaowwwwwww. So now it is a breeze and my company allows me to turn in my expenses on the NR standard program. I have been tempted to integrate it into our system...but have not done this yet. NR Pro does have the capability to integrate data into another program... but hey, I'm just glad to get them done. I have had great support with both my scanner and the help line. Once my computer screwed up and NR helped me get my database working again...even though it was a uSoft issue. I can't say enough about how much I love this product! I've bought 2 of them (one for a friend who is also an independent contractor).
If you are at all even contemplating trying to make your life easier, this is what you want! I have been keeping envelopes upon envelopes of receipts, manually entering them into QuickBooks, or exporting them to Excel... NO MORE!!
The OCR makes it a snap! I put a receipt in the scanner, it reads the vendor, date, tax, total... remembers what account I've assigned in the past for the vendor, tracks approx 50 or more tax lines... it really is incredible! And that's just the tip of the iceberg... it creates multiple reports, varying database finds... it does so much and I have only begun to delve into that side of it.
My partner (before I purchased this product) didn't understand why I couldn't just use our existing scanner for our receipts. Once I showed her the software and the fact that most of the time I don't have to type a single thing... well, she understood.
For anyone who needs to keep receipts, this is a must have... it truly changed my life :)

I purchased a NeatReceipts scanner about 2 years ago, and love it. My two best reasons are as follows.
First, I went through an audit last year and the auditor sat next to me and looked over the various receipts she wanted more info on, and asked me to print out a couple and I was out of there in 2 1/2 hours. No muss, no fuss. She even gave me credit for some things she saw that I had missed. I ended up getting enough money back to more than cover the cost of NeatReceipts.
Second, I had both my cars broken into in front of my house one morning. They swiped both my GPS units. When I talked to the insurance company, they needed proof on purchase date and price. I searched thru my Neat Receipts database by vendor and found them in 2 minutes. I printed them out to PDF and e-mailed them to the adjuster. He could not believe it! He had them 5 minutes after I filed my claim, and wired the money to my account the next day. HE called me to make sure I got it, and told me how he wished more of his customers were that good at recordkeeping. Thanks Neat Receipts!!

I purchased the NEAT Receipts Professional Mobile Receipt Scanner on the suggestion of a colleague. I was most interested as I have several businesses which require that I keep copious receipts for tax purposes. In addition, I attend several conferences per year where multiple pages of documents are handed out and with limited luggage space, taking these pages home requires extra room. This device for scanning works incredibly well for my purposes. It is easy to operate and gives me all the necessary information to keep track of all my documents and receipts on my computer or pen drive. It is USB compatible which makes it easy to take with me using my laptop computer. When I return home, I always have the information regarding travel, meals, accomodations, etc. at my fingertips in a matter of seconds. At the end of the year this should save me a lot of time when preparing for tax season. I am very impressed by its ease of use and what it can do.
