Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Navigon 5100 3.5-Inch Portable GPS NavigatorCustomer Review: Good Price, Great Device. Summary: 5 Stars
I bought this device for my wife for christmas and have been happy ever since. The unit looks nice, menus are intuitive and easy to read and the integrated lifetime traffic service is a fantastic feature. If you are looking for a device that can be everything to everyone this probably not for you (and likely no GPS unit is because it doesn't exist). However, if you are looking for a reaonably priced unit with a number of higher end features that can help you navigate your daily life a bit easier, you will not be disappointed by this device.
Navigon 5100 3.5-Inch Portable GPS Navigator
Customer Review: navigon 5100 is a good product. Summary: 5 Stars
The key features the make the navigon above other GPS's are the True View, a extreamly helpful tool, and the real time traffic reports which are free for the lifetime you own it.
The only things i think could use improvement are, the speaker could get a little louder, although its plenty loud when on the mount it comes with. and the size of the buttons you need to use to enter address are too small but i haven't had any issuse of pressing the wrong one but i keep thinking i will. Also it includes the 2mb memory card and an extra external antena which I've never needed but nice just in case.
Also the mount works great and is a great disign.
Customer Review: A very usable GPS Summary: 5 Stars
I bought this for our daughter, who is in graduate school in a large city and an internship that requires her to travel to facilities scattered over a 50 mile radius. I chose this because it was the only GPS in this price range that offered a visual depiction of interchanges so that she could see which one to take. It has worked very well for her. The only drawback we have found is that it does not 'like' her shortcuts in areas that she knows well, such as our home neighborhood. I think this is a general problem with GPS in general, because my husband's GPS 'objects' to his shortcuts too. If only they could learn alternative routes!
Customer Review: Good quality, well made GPS Nav. Summary: 5 Stars
Yes the Germans did it again. This is a well made product that dose just what it suppose to, navigate. I have both the Tom-Tom one XL and this Navigon 5100. The Navigon is a better straight up navigator then the tom-tom. The tom-tom's interactive software is better and easier to use. I keep the Navigon in my truck and the tom-tom in my wife car. It's easier for her to operate. Also the life time traffic is handy. I use it going home from work to see where the traffic is. It saved me from some road rage here and there. So if you can operate a TV remote and you're a no nonsense kind of person you'll probably prefer the Navigon also.
Customer Review: The best gps i have used so far Summary: 5 Stars
I paid over $1000 on a megallan gps that did not tell you the street name to turn down it was slow to get a gps signal , recalulations were
beyond slow and it did not have traffic alerts. I paid a faction of that price for this unit and its amazing. Turn it on and with in seconds it has a signal . It can tell if you did not make a turn in a split second and recalulates the new route before you even realize it . It tells you what street to turn down so you dont have to wonder was that the right street to turn on , and it has traffic alerts . I love this unit. I even purchased one for my spouse and one for my sister.
