Customer Review: Nice idea not very well executed.
Summary: 3 Stars
Pros: The custom shaped trays are a great idea and do a very good job of holding the pill in the correct position.
Cons: The cutting blade is dull right out of the box. I cut 30 pills and it only got worse. Several pills were crushed rather than cut. I have another pill cutter that's over a year old and the blade is still sharper than this one. (Why don't they make this with a replaceable single-edged razor blade for the cutter???)
The cutting lever mates too closely with the base and has a 'latch' in the front so it is difficult to open after a cut is made. A lip on the base to use to hold it down would help.
Over-all a clever idea, but I'm still looking for a real good pill splitter.
