I bought this scale a month or so ago to weigh newborn pups. It worked fine. I just put them in a plastic tub on the platform, and that worked as well as spending the extra ~$25 for the baby scale: the ultraship and ultrababy scales are basically the same, except the baby scale comes with the baby tray to put on top, only comes with a 55-lb. capacity, and is white instead of black.
The scale I bought did not come with the power adapter, but the adapter only costs ~$6, which is not much more than the cost of 4 C-cell batteries. Yes they should have included the adapter, but they didn't. No big deal. Note that the scale works fine with the adapter and no batteries in it.
I would also mention that when I tried calling Myweigh with questions, I had a hard time getting ahold of a person to talk to, but I got a reasonably quick and friendly response when I e-mailed them, so if you have questions or issues, try e-mail first.
