I recently started selling on eBay. It was a pain to get to the post office & discover I uncharged for shipping. A friend recommended getting this scale (she has the silver one). I received this scale quickly and began using it immediately. I have only used it for smaller things (i.e. books, baseball cards, & cake pans) but I have found that it weighs things perfectly. I can now print a shipping label through PayPal and toss it in the mailbox - no more waiting in line at the post office.
I gave this scale 5 stars because this scale not only saves me from undercharging on postage but, it saves me time. I do recommend you get the ac adapter (ULTRASHIP POWER SUPPLY for all MYWEIGH ULTRASHIP SERIES DIGITAL POSTAL SCALES), if you are going to be using it frequently --- Otherwise it takes 4 C batteries ---

The Ultraship 55 lb Electronic Scale was purchased to be used as a postal scale. The scale is so accurate it can also be used in the kitchen. We found that this digital scale is more accurate than our Peluse 100 lb. shipping scale that we have used for years. The scale also weighs in grams and ounces.
The Ultraship 55 can work with batteries but we opted to get the power supply and they work well together.
We did not consider the possibility of weighing large packages but by switching to pounds we can weigh our boxes that ship via UPS or Fex Ex. This was a nice surprise and made it easier to process packages without pricing up the Peluze scale from under the shipping bench..
It is a simple matter to zero out the scale so you can use a container to hold items that could fall off the plate that holds the box.
We highly recommend this scale.

I just ordered my 2nd one. My first was perfect and a really nice shade of cobalt blue. This time I'm getting black to match everything else in the kitchen. I use it for weighing coffee (I home roast), and for shipping packages. So it's great for detailed stuff - down to .1 per OZ, making it perfect for kitchen use. And also great for postal shipping, letters or packages.
FYI - my last one worked just fine for many years - and somehow I lost it during my last move. It held up for YEARS of hard use without complaint. So it's only my fault alone that I'm buying a 2nd one. The newer model can handle even more load - incredible - 55#!!! I've never needed to ship more than 30 but it's nice to know that the head room is there.
It's also really nice to be able to detach the faceplate. Once in a while I ship a larger box out for eBay and this is a great feature.

This scale is perfect for any applications I can think of. Staples didn't have anything close, and the price is a real baragin. We're using it to weigh a baby to monitor weight gain, so the low-range accuracy is important. We brought the baby home from the Dr's office and weighed him again within half an hour and this scale weighs the same as the Dr.'s scale. Especially useful for this application is the tare button, the hold-the-number-on-the-display button and the unit conversion button, so we can track weight in grams but easily tell family about pounds and ounces. This seller got a shipment of the black units in instead of the silver and sent that with a note offering exchange if the color wasn't satisfactory - I was glad to get the scale right away and must say the black color is probably the best one (see the rightmost picture above).Customer Review: affordable, super fast shipping too!

i ordered this scale to replace my tiny royal scale 3lb capacity. i used my old scale to sell some of my stuffs that i dont use on ebay. afte ra year of using it to weigh just small items, i recently received a meesage from a member that she had been charged an additional $$$ due to lack of postage, this is the first time it happened to me. i tried to weigh a few stuffs sold and i directly went to the post office to weigh it, and OMG 3 of the were 3 ounces less and the 2 of them are 3-4 ounces over. i think this is a good step for me that i ordered a new one so i wont overpay / underpay for the usps service. the only con i can say is that they should include the power adaptor in the box so you can use it immediately than buying it separately. OVERALL, thanks for the affordable scale and fast shipping!
