Customer Review: Motorola sb5101 cable modem
Summary: 5 Stars

Unit works great, no problems of any kind.
I do have a small hint so some one doesn't have to spend long useless time with their cable customer service that takes forever to get to the tech people. If you have a router or even a voip (phone box). Most have built in fire walls. If when installing every thing is on and looks to be working but you can't get online; before calling for help. Unplug the modem, router and phone box if have. Then in order plug back in 1-modem, 2-router, and lastly 3-phone box if you have and this will set you up so the other fire walls won't block the modem. Hope this helps.

Customer Review: Works well with my Cox Cable connection
Summary: 5 Stars

The modem was very easy to setup and seems to be working well after a month or so. I wanted to warn other about my experience adding a modem to our home network. I assumed I could just get second modem, plug it in and go. That's not the case with Cox Communications here in AZ. They make you pay for a second internet connection when you add a second cable modem. When I called to get everything setup, they tried to tell me I had to pay for a $100 service call to have someone come out and set it up. I was very clear that I didn't want to pay for this and they ended up doing it over the phone for free. Don't let them charge you (as long as you are comfortable with plugging in three wires and reading them the nubmers off the device).

Customer Review: Best cable modem money can buy
Summary: 5 Stars

This is the modem that Comcast prefers and I bought it on Amazon at a savings of over $25 from buying it at Bestbuy (Comcast provider). Easy to install and works perfect. Just make sure you call Comcast and give them the number on the back of the modem so they can reset your account. We have not had one moment of problem with it and I wouldn't call myself a computer savy person. I just wanted to buy preferred equipment at a savings and found Amazon had the best price. I paired this with a Linksys Cable/DSL Router with a 4 port 10/100 switch so my husband and I could both be on our computers at the same time without having to have a network established. Like I said, we haven't had a moments problem with either one of them.

Customer Review: Reliable, easy to use modem - recommended
Summary: 5 Stars

I bought this modem about a month and a half ago and thus far it's been very reliable and easy to use (especially in comparison to my cable provider comcast - yuk yuk!) It was easy to install (though I'm somewhat computer savvy - not an expert though, so if you can install your own printer or wireless routher with instructions you should be fine) and has given me no problems thus far. One word of caution - there is an off button on this device that is not particularly easy to see and is easily pushed by accident. I did this and sent my own internet offline for days to the point where I got a service call from comcast, only to look like a total tool. So be aware and save yourself the moment of looking like a complete jackass.

Customer Review: Excellent Cable Modem
Summary: 5 Stars

Overall, an excellent product. Setup was a snap. I plugged it into my CATV system, connected a computer, and got a screen telling me to call my cable systems customer service. A call to my CATV company (RCN) allowed me to setup service within 10 minutes, without needing to wait around for a tech visit! The modem has both ethernet and USB ports, with USB and ethernet cables provided.

One thing that was not included was an RG-6 patch cord to connect to the cable system. Also, a signal splitter will be needed unless you have an unused cable jack. In order to test it, I had to disconnect a TV. This required a trip to Radio Shack for final installation. In spite of this, I'll give it 5 stars.
