I finally bought this Monster HDMI cable after debating in my head whether or not I should. I agree that this cable is probably overpriced but let me tell you that I'm so pleased with this cable. It's like falling in love again with your TV.
I read some reviews that were saying there was no difference with the 1 dollar cables....FALSE! I've owned those cheap cables and have them home, I kept switching until I got the best picture quality and they were all good. Somehow, I knew I could get better picture quality out of my Panasonic Plasma. I took the plunge and bought this Monster HDMI cable and I went from viewing good quality picture to superb clear picture with this HDMI Monster cable. It was an upgrade from 8 out of 10 to 10 out of 10. Maybe not worth the price to some but if you want the best picture quality for your plasma then you may want to invest in this cable. I truly believe that those Monster cables are the best. Sometimes, I go up-close to my TV screen and I can't believe how clear and sharp the picture quality is. I did not experience those feelings with my cheaper cables.
