After seeing a good percentage of reviews knocking this product I just had to write. Needing a new HDMI cable due to a purchase of a Sony Blu-Ray player I researched and decided to buy 2 media-bridge HDMI cables here on Amazon, 1 for the Blu-Ray player and 1 for my HD cable-box. After all, a HDMI cable either passes a signal or it doesn't, right?
Media-bridge inserted: When I watched TV with my HD cable-box as the source I was noticing a slight lack in sharpness of detail concerning the picture quality. Also, colors were not quite as natural as they were with my old HDMI cable. My old cable was a $35-40 Philips that I had bought when I purchased my Sony KDL-40V2500 back in 2007. To be sure I must of swapped cables in and out about a dozen times or so. Although it was subtle my old HDMI cable was most definitely out performing the media-bridge cable. The more I watched and switched between the two cables the more I learned and was able to discern their differences. I also wanted to mention that with both of the media-bridge cables I started getting digital artifacts, like sparkles, and drop-outs that I never incurred before.
Wanting to get the best possible picture quality obtainable from HDTV I decided to take a chance on the Monster M1000. I decided to buy used since I thought it was a risky purchase after reading the mixed reviews on Amazon and other sites as well. With the M1000 between my HD cable-box and the TV my reaction within a second was ..... WOW! IMHO the clarity of detail without any etch or glare was improved significantly. Colors seemed to look more saturated and natural without being as blotchy or patchy as before. I noticed these same improvements with the Blu-Ray player as the source with even a larger improvement in natural looking resolution, the detail of clarity was stunning! For me it was as if I upgraded my Sony HDTV.
I know tech minded people say that digital is just 0's and 1's and a HDMI cable should work or not . For all of today's technical know how and advancements, there are some things in life that we don't fully understand yet. It doesn't mean they don't exist, we just don't know exactly what specs to take and to measure yet. Please let your eyes be the judge, I'm sure glad I did.
Until I see a better HDMI cable, the Monster Cable M1000 is my reference. Very highly recommended!!!
