This is my second Monster HTS 1000 MKIII Power Bar (my other one is over a year old, powers and protects another large screen HDTV system).
I have been in the computer and electronic business for over 25 years. These surge protectors are perfect for HDTV systems. The technology used is somewhat expensive but also the best for this application. If you want to protect your investment, this is the power supply to purchase.

Monster really do protect your equipment i have model lower then this one and when lighting struck down stair tv blew out not protected by a monster surge protector. A word of warning i bought this one because i pluged a electric heater to lower model and fried the circuits in it. so do not hook any high current load(heater,AC or large motors) or might have same fate as me in destroying the surge protector.Customer Review: Monster product at a tiny price

When my original Monster HTS1000 power outlet died, I went back to the electronics store where I purchased it for a replacement. The replacement cost around $200. I decided to check good old dependable Amazon.com and lo and behold, found a sight where the exact same item was on sale for $84. I purchased this monster power center on amazon for approx HALF THE PRICE compared to my local big box store. I am extrememly happy with my purchase so far and this power center seems sturdy and well built. Even my wife commented that the unit feels very heavy, which is usually a good thing in this class of electronics since heavier components mean a better grade of materials went into its construction.Customer Review: Peace of mind

I haven't operated my new Samsung UN55B8000XF without this, yet, and I don't plan on it. Maybe it is overpriced as others say, maybe I am paying too much for the Monster brand name, but I do not want to take that chance with my $2500 TV. I don't have any way of knowing if it is REALLY working, or not, but all of the lights are on that says it is, and the quality of the construction is outstanding.
