I agree that Monster does charge a premium for their products. I purchased mine a year ago and it does exactly what its supposed to do.No surge in the house affects my TV.Picture quality is perfect and if anything does happen Monster supposedly will cover any damage.
I saw a reviewer had several complaints about it and only paid $40. The plastic wall mount and angled plug worked perfect for my Motion 52 wall mount since it also requires power. The cord is a bit long but I would rather more cord than to little.
So with a lower price tag its well worth the money to protect your expensive flat panel
