I purchased two of these for my home entertainment center. I had bought a new LED/LCD TV and the TV only had a optical video out. The more I explored, I realized that I did not need a cable long enough to run from the TV to my tuner (about 20 feet), instead, just from my Dish receiver and Blu-ray player to the tuner. Therefore, I only needed two cables about 3 feet long. I hooked them up and the sound is amazingly improved. I love the new sound from both devices. I recommend digital optical audio cables whether you purchase this one, or another. I did see some issues in reviews where some optical cables did not truly fit the tuner's input, or the other devices' output. I have had no such issue with these cables. I'm driving sound with an older Sony 110 watt 7.1 channel system through Klipsch speakers (not low end speakers)!!! My house now truly rocks whether it is a movie, tv video, Blu-ray video, or a CD in the Blu-ray player. Excellent!!!
