I haven't really experimented with cables at all but this one works brilliantly as far as I can tell. Technically all cables that transmit a digital system are supposed to work identically but after spending over $600 on my setup it just made me feel better to spend the extra 10 bucks for a gold-plated, name brand cable. The cable itself is engineered well, the mesh casing is very strong and where it attaches to the connector is very secure. I use this to connect my Xbox 360 to an LCD monitor and it works perfectly. And if you didn't already know, this cable only transmits the video signal, not audio (HDMI has both, DVI only transmits video).
