My previous experience with this kind of device was with those "cheapo" lights you find in pharmacies or department stores. Reading with those is really difficult and tiring. So I was a little skeptic about the whole kind of devices and what this particular light could bring.
To my amaze, this is a huge difference over the cheap ones. The Mighty Bright is really usable, bright and with an excellent coverage. I even think this is definitely more usable than a floor lamp, in terms of flexibility and brightness.
As a final note: You don't need to worry about its base or its weight. You won't even notice it while reading. Also, it serves nicely to use the light in a "stand up" position, to read or whatever other use you need it for.

I got two booklights for Christmas, and I prefer this one to the Great Point one. I like the feature on this one that allows me to select brightness (2 LEDs on vs. 1 LED on). The other light I got is all or nothing (2 LEDs or it's off). I use the light to read in my 3-yr-old's bedroom while she is falling asleep, so I'd rather deal with a light that is not quite as bright so that it disturbs her less, and this one gives me that option. As long as I am pointing it at the area of the page that I'm reading, the 1 LED gives me plenty of light. And the flexibility of this light is incredible, making it easy to adjust which part of the page I'm pointing it towards. I have owned at least 8 book lights over the years. Some last for a year or so and others fail miserably in a couple of weeks.
This light is by far the best one I have ever used. It has a nice bright LED light that will illuminate a paperback (both pages) and a hardback (both pages) easily but cuts the light off at the edge of the beam so that others are not bothered by the light being on.
It has a long flexible neck that seems to be very durable and holds its position.
The batteries last a long time as well.
It clips to the back of the book and stays in place and is lightweight.
I would buy 10 more of these without hesitation.
I have had mine for over 5 years now and it is still going strong!

This is my first book light, so don't have anything to compare it to, but I love it so far. It seems strong and sturdy, the flex neck adjusts easily to focus just right on the 2-page spread of a book (I don't have a Kindle, just use this on regular books), the clip hold is sturdy, and most of all I love the two brightness options with one easy button, which I'm assuming will save the battery if you don't need the brighter option. It also makes a great bookmark :) I like to read in bed and my bright light on my nightstand used to bother my husband if he was trying to go to sleep. This LED light focuses right on the book so it doesn't brighten the whole room. Can't comment on customer service, as I haven't needed to use it.Customer Review: A Wonderful Reading Light At Last!

I have tried most of the book lights that are available on the market over the last few years. When I found this one I was over-joyed from the first time I used it. I have read the negative reviews on this product regarding it not being bright enough and the neck not being stiff enough. But my light as been simply wonderful for the last several months of use. It the perfect brightness for paperbacks and hardcovers alike. The neck stays where I put it, the clamp is strong and stays on the book well, it not too heavy and I use it every night in bed for several hours at a time. The batteries last a long time. So, I have NO complaints with this little jewel and I highly recommend this great little light!
