My wife had been complaining for some time about me keeping my nightside light on at night to read. She has to wake up earlier then I do in the morning and I tend to stay up later in bed and read. I had promised her that I would look into getting a book light if she thought that would solve the problem and we both decided it was worth a shot. I chose this book light based on the reviews here and the fact that it has the ability to work with the Kindle...I don't have one yet, but maybe someday! The price was also low enough that I felt if it didn't work then it wasn't like I had wasted a ton of money. Well I am happy to say that this little light is amazing! It gives off better light directed at my book that I am reading then my nightside lamp did. My wife is happy because the light is such that it does not bother her trying to sleep. If you are on the fence about if a book light works or is for you I would say that this one has been perfect for my situation.Customer Review: Wonderful addon

The LED frequency is a soft white hue that has almost a tinge of blue to it which is similar to the standard LCD white frequency. What that means is that it is very very easy on the eyes. I just spent several hours out in very dark conditions (back yard on my swing reading a kindle book) and the display and lighting were as a sunny day in the shade. The diffused angle of light is such that it covers an incredible 60 degrees (by my recollecting) worth of angle. That means that your getting by 6 inches above your kindle, nearly a 3 foot swatch of light from it by the time it reaches you and what your sitting on.
It is very important to have items that do not detract from your reading experience, and this item is an absolute must in dusk to dark conditions for a reading device such as the kindle.
I really like it, flexible arm... no glare, can put it where you want. I've clasped it to my leather kindle holder, etc... great bundle.

Through the years I have owned several book lights from the inexpensive to the very expensive and this one is clearly the best! The flexibility of the gooseneck is great. You can position the light wherever you want. The light covers the entire book page, or Kindle (a problem with some other book lights).
The two light function is a bonus. If there is some dim light in the room, but not enought for reading, you can use the lower light setting. The gooseneck is nice and long and you can swivel the light tip for precise positioning.
Basically, you can clip this to the back of your book, position the neck and head then read for hours without having to readjust it constantly - something many other book lights can not do.
The only negative is if using with a Kindle it can cause a glare on the screen if the light is not positioned high enough but that's an easy fix.
I recommend this to every book lover!

This is one great little light for any nocturnal page-flipper!
Having the option to use one or two bulbs assures that there's always enough light available to cover both pages at once, and there's never a dark spot even on a hardcover book. The light illuminates the pages without blinding anyone sitting nearby. The flex-shaft is easy to adjust, and it stays where you put it. The combination clip/battery compartment is large enough to keep the whole works in place, but small enough to keep it from being cumbersome. Its overall lightweight design works as well on a paperback as it does on a hardcover. With three batteries (not included), you're assured of many hours of well-lit reading before having to change the "available anywhere" AAA-size batteries. The less-than $20 price tag makes the Might Bright XtraFlex2 well worth the money.

I've used a few book lights over the years and have never really been satisfied with them, so when I bought my Kindle 2 I decided to give one more light a chance. The Mighty Bright XtraFlex2 has exceeded my expectations.
With 2 LEDs it provides 2 settings: high (both on) and medium (one on/one off). I don't call the second setting "low" because I don't want to give the impression that it isn't bright enough. In fact, I almost never use the high setting because medium is plenty bright for reading. The high setting WAS useful when we lost power, providing a good light to walk around the house with. (Better than my flashlight.)
The clip is a little bulky since it holds the batteries, but not so bulky that it annoys. It bulk does allow me to set it on a table to light small projects (soldering, threading a needle, etc).
I highly recommend this product if you need a book light.
