I bought these radios thinking that they probably would probably end up being a toy, how wrong I was! We have NO cell coverage and I wanted to have some way to communicate when riding horse deep into the forest. These radios have a clear signal, even in tall pines for easily 3 miles. If you go to a high spot, the distance increases to about 12 miles(haven't gone any further). I was going to be happy if they only worked on our ranch(125 acres), which they do, but the added distance into the forest makes them invaluable.Customer Review: Good Radio for a cruise ship

I bought six of these radios for a family cruise. I couldn't be happier with our results. The batteries had plenty of power for a long day and were always fully charged by morning. This radio has three power settings, we found that the medium setting provided enought power to cover the entire ship. One can turn off the ring tone and the beep after talk tone so it is less annoying to the other travelers. We bought the Midland GXT710VP3 radios for our trip to the Bahamas where we would have no cell phone service. They worked great across the entire resort, even from our hotel room, in the farthest tower, to a restaurant in the main building. Voices were clear and static was minimal. The compact charging base was easy to pack and kept the radios fully charged. We never had a dead battery issue. Can't wait to use them in the great outdoors for our camping and off-roading trips.Customer Review: Great Radios

I think these are great radios because they go very long but not 26 miles.
Also because they have a built-in NOAA Weather radio and that could come in handy. They have 22 channels, a long battery life, battery
packs and charger. Although they are very expensive. Usually I use them
with my friends when I am outside and they are inside.

I bought this for our lake home. Great way to keep in touch and minimize runs between the boat, the beach and the house. Love the weather-radio feature. Has been very useful with boating. Great range for the open water. Batteries maintain their charge.
