Customer Review: Perfect for newer PC Games, some older ones too!

My son was having problems playing PC Games with his old reliable Logitech Dual Action Controller. Some you could manually assign the the buttons, but others (LEGO Batman) you needed a third part patch to get it to work. Found people talking about the XBOX Wired Controller for PC on one of the discussion groups and decided to get it. The wired one worked so good for him I got myself this XBOX Wireless Controller for PC. Works perfectly! Since it seems most games are designed for XBOX or PS3 today (PC seems to be an afterthought, and some (Madden for example) aren't made at all) buttons are assigned and even display the green "A", red "B", etc. I had no problem with the USB consuming too much power? I just plugged it in, installed the batteries in the controller and pressed the green button in the middle to turn the controller on. I didn't install the drivers from the disc, instead just went to Windows 7 update and downloaded them from there since they are probably the most recent. Even got it to work with an older game, MVP baseball 2004, although it took some manual changing of the controller.cfg file. I'm sure there are work-arounds for other older games also. The only thing you have to remember is to turn the controller on before starting a game, sometimes the game won't see it before, and you have to exit, turn on the controller, and restart the game. Oh, and this controller rumbles (depending on the game) just like with the XBOX console and it's Black (which matches most PC's today), unlike the white wired one. Get this or the wired one, you won't be disappointed.
