I was skeptical at first about this, seeing as how I had never gone wireless before. However, this adapter really works and there is not a spot of lag. Actually, I was having more lag problems when I was directly connected to a modem.
Linksys offers an alternative to this called a game adapter. It is the same price and I imagine that it works just as well. Don't make the mistake of trying to save money and buying another router or an access point, it won't work.

This worked flawlessly with my Xbox when I bought it two years ago, and it was great to discover that this works with the Xbox 360 as well. If you already have this, instead of investing another $99 for the official 360 wireless gadget, just carry this over to your new system after you configure it to your wireless network through your Xbox. I was looking to go wireless on my XBOX360 so I could put it in the living room area where my projection tv was. As soon as I hooked the device to my system, it saw it automatically, but had to input my wireless g username and password to see the network. After having major headaches trying to setup the more economical Linksys game adapter B, I returned it for this product. Within 5 minutes I was online on my Xbox. For a more detailed account of what happened, check out my other review on the Linksys product. Easy set-up. I put the set-up disk in my X-BOX and the adapter was reconized right away. I had a little trouble connecting to X-BOX Live, but nothing I could not figure out. If you get poor signal stregnth try moving the antennaes around. I mounted my about 6 to 8 feet on my wall and it connects around 40 to 50 mbps. 4 1/2 STARS
