This adapter was way to easy to setup. Opening the box was the worst part. Plug it into ac outlet, plug the cat5 into the xbox and pop the disk into your xbox. 10 to 15 minutes later i was online fighting little brats in the rumble pit.
in contrast, my friend opted for the netgear wireless, which is cheaper. i believe it works well for him, however you need to install stuff on a pc, that's wierd. Using the adapter it works as an independent device that gets a ip from your dhcp enabled router.
This is a must have for xbox, if you want to be wireless.

This is an excellent wireless adapter for xbox owners. Setup is very easy. I have WEP and MAC filtering configured on my router and I was able to add this device to my network. A couple things people should be aware of:1. You will need to turn SSID broadcasting on for it to work.
2. If you have a D-Link DI-614+ wireless router you will need to disable the special d-link 22mpbs mode and use 11mpbs instead (this is only a problem if you use the d-link 22mpbs speed)
Being able to configure the settings from the xbox is very convenient for system link play. Haven't had any problems at all.

After reading other reviews, I thought it was worth saving $50 to take the gamble on having it connect to my Xbox 360.
Just received it in the mail today, and after I connected it and turned it on, I went to the Xbox settings panel and picked my wireless router from the list of several available, put in my WEP key, and I was connected. BTW, I have an AT&T broadband connection with their company wireless router.
Quick and no hassle! Didn't read the manual, didn't use the software CD.
Now my son is setting up his Xbox Live account, and we're ready to go.

IM JUST GONNA START OUT BY SAYING THIS WAS VERY SIMPLE TO SETUP AND IT WORKS GREAT FOR MY PS2, 360, XBOX, AND EVEN ON A PC. I BOUGHT IT FROM A FRIEND WHO BOUGHT IT FROM AMAZON BECAUSE HIS XBOX IS MODDED AND CANT USE IT. IT NEVER DROPS THE CONNECTION AND MOST OF THE TIME I HAVE A BETTER CONNECTION SPEED THAN THE OTHER PLAYERS ON XBOX LIVE AND PS2 ONLINE. I ALSO HAVE A MILLION OTHER WIRELESS DEVICES IN MY HOME AND THEY DONT INTERFERE AT ALL. YOU MUST HAVE A WIRELESS ROUTER FOR THIS TO WORK THOUGH AND SETUP IS SO EASY A MONKEY COULD DO IT.
