Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Microsoft Sidewinder Precision Pro Joystick

Customer Review: The best. Just the best . . .
Summary: 5 Stars

I was originally going to buy a huge $100+ setup with seperate stick/throttle/rudder pedals. This one cought my eye when i was at a CompUSA. Upon closer inspection, i realized that microsoft had perfectly combined an amazing, self-calibration joystick (now more aiming in the corner of the screen, then the other), a very smooth, very precise throttle, and a twistiong joystick that i felt is even better than rudder pedals, plus enough buttons to be able to play x-wing alliance with barely and reaching to the keyboard(those who have played it know what i mean. without a joystick with lats of buttons, you're never going to win). I was a little worried because i am left-handed, but it wasn't a problem in any way for me, but i play the guitar and hockey and tennis right handed. If you're still worried, go to a store and try it out, it is soo comfortable that you won't even care. and with the rebate, it is just the best

Customer Review: Great little joystick!
Summary: 5 Stars

I love mechwarrior and this is the joystick that works with the games. I had one originally, then for some reason thought I'd "upgrade" to a flight simulator joystick to get more functionality. I tossed out the old sidewinder... then I found that the flight simulators (three from different vendors) don't work with mechwarrior for some reason, unless you download and install special software drivers. I did that. Its MOST frustrating to do that, then find out that you can move and twist... but you can't return fire from the mechwarrior opponent who is toasting you!
So I'm back to the Sidewinder... had a tough time finding one, so I'll take better care of it! I was able to find it only at Amazon.... And Mechwarrior 5 is coming out soon!!!

Customer Review: Quality high value/Time tested since 1999
Summary: 5 Stars

This is a great quality time tested controller. I have owned it since around 1999 and it still works like the day i took it home. It has been dropped off the desk many times throughout the years (twice today), used, spilled on, abused, and kid tested. I am in my mid 30's now and am amazed it still works flawlessly. Throughout the decade I have used it mainly for Microsoft flight sim. Just purchased a new computer with windows 7 and it was just plug it in and go. Still very happy, cant say enough about the Microsoft sidewinder precision pro. For me it is a superior product and passed the test of time, and still keeps going. I forgot to mention that it is also very accurate!

Customer Review: The most underrated joystick ever made
Summary: 5 Stars

To be perfectly frank, the Microsoft Sidewinder is the most underrated joystick ever made. My previous joystick was a Logitech Wingman Extreme. Within six months of purchase, the Wingman was falling apart - calibration was non-existent and the rubber case was disintegrating.

So I bought the Microsoft Sidewinder Pro. And what a fantastic joystick it was - it's excellent for flight/space simulators like I-War or X-Wing: Alliance. The precision of this joystick is amazing.

So, if you're looking for a high-quality joystick at a reasonable price, get this one. It's still one of the most robust and reliable joysticks on the market.

Customer Review: an exited buyer
Summary: 5 Stars

I have had the Microsoft percision pro joystick for some time now. the only problem is the featherlight base that seems to always mover around a lot. the throttle controle is extremely useful for the Mechwarrior games, and the sturdy stick makes it impossible for unwanted controls to be made if you let go. ill never find a joystick quite like it, i just wish it was compatible with windows XP. it is outdated and only works on windows 95 and 98, altough it only lists 95. i recomend this for 1st person shooters and flying sims, although it is acceptabe for racing games.
