Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Microsoft Natural Keyboard EliteCustomer Review: Fantastic! Summary: 5 Stars
I've used a Microsoft natural keyboard elite for 10 years now, and have wore it out, so ordered another. Before that, I used the original Microsoft natural keyboard. I prefer the elite, since it is narrower, and fits on a standard keyboard tray. These keyboards have saved my wrists. I'm a software engineer, and use a keyboard for 8-10 hours a day, for 20 years. I developed ulnar nerve deviation syndrome (similar to carpal tunnel, but ulnar is one of the other tunnels), which was quite painful. Switching to this keyboard allowed my wrists to remain neutral, and gradually may pain went away (took a few months). I use it in combination with a keyboard tray with the top of the keyboard tilted down (the opposite of what you might think), to keep my hands in a neutral position.
Customer Review: Key Placement? BAH!! This keyboard rocks!! Summary: 5 Stars
WAH!! Of course the key placement is different than your standard grandma keyboard...but this is the new age, with a new keyboard to match it. I type for a living(tech support and accounting/data entry). I've always had problems with wrist pains/arm pains from the traditional keyboard-in-a-tray computer set ups. I use this keyboard at work on my desktop and have absolutely no pain from typing. I actually find the new key placement easier to work with than a standard keyboard. My typing speed increases by about ten percent versus my old keyboard. Going in, I was a bit skeptical, of course...but I was forced to use it. At my next job, if they don't have one of these, I'll go to the store and buy one to use at work. I'll never go back to the old style keyboards again.
Customer Review: Touch typing's fine Summary: 5 Stars
I'm a touch typist, have been for almost 40 years, and I have no problem at all with this keyboard. I've had one for over a year, and I love it. I recently bought another one to hook up to my laptop when I use it away from home. The only real problem I have with it is that I don't have one of these everywhere I use a computer, such as at work. My new MS bent keyboard is the fancy new kind, with function buttons, and I never had to run the installation software. I have XP on my machine, and it recognized the keyboard and I was able to use it, special functions and all, in about five seconds. I have been pleased with the quality and "feel" of both keyboards. My husband goes through keyboards at a rate of about two a year, but my MS keyboards go on and on.
Customer Review: For when simplicity and comfort are prized above all Summary: 5 Stars
This particular keyboard is the only one I have used for the past half dozen years. I've got two on my desk here at work and another at home, plus a few spares hidden around the storage room for when they break (or stop getting sold).
Nowadays, if you're looking for an ergonomic keyboard, you're going to always run into the modern fancy devices. Rows of buttons to access your mail or documents, fancy Function Lock behavior, macros, and all manner of doodads and whatsits that you probably don't need.
Perhaps I'm the only one, but I want a keyboard that's just a keyboard. I just want to type on it -- and not kill my wrists! This keyboard combines both of those - simplicity and comfort - in a way that I've not found matched by any other keyboard.
Customer Review: Natural KB Elite Summary: 5 Stars
This is one of my favorite key boards. This is the third one I've purchased sense it's introduction to the market. Microsoft made some minor adjustments to the keyboard's size compared to my old one. The keypads have a nice resistance just enough for comfort. At first I thought the size difference was due to a cost saving move; however it seems to be slightly more comfortable. I like the fact that it's still wired because I use an IO auto switch to move between four systems and don't have to worry about battiers wearing out. Wireless is great too but one size dosn't fit everybody. I have tried a few other ergo. key boards but this is my favorite. I was considering buying a few more and keeping them in storage when the replacement fails eventually.
