Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Microsoft MN-700 Wireless 802.11g Base Station RouterCustomer Review: Excellent product, more excellent price Summary: 5 Stars
Since these have been discontinued, it may be moot to recommend it, but you can find them on the clearance sites and refurb dumpers. I've had mine for about 3 months, smoothest hardware installation I've had in years, and has run like a champ since. I've had ZERO problems related to the router. As always, if your machine isn't maintained well or you run buggy software (warez, cracked, etc.) all bets are off.
Customer Review: One of the Best routers available Summary: 5 Stars
I am not sure what people are complaining about other than microsoft bashing. The original MN-500 router and this one have PHENOMENAL signal strength, and WHEN PROPERLY SET-UP it does not EVER drop connection from what I have seen. I have had a Linksys, SMC, Netgear, and Dell, and The Dell and Microsoft are the tops, and Microsofts signal strength pushes it over the top for me.
Customer Review: I love it Summary: 5 Stars
I have read everyone's descriptions of this product and although I am not a computer genius, I still feel that this is the best product on the market. I have been using this for about 4 months now and have had no problems what so ever. The signal strength is great and I had no problems hooking it up to my computer, laptop, and xbox. I highly recommend this product.
Customer Review: No Problems Summary: 5 Stars
1st time wireless user and big surprise...no problems, set up base station , and 2 remote computers (notebook & kids PC) in about 15-20 mins, use a cable modem, have XP on all machines with Norton firewall and Antivirus. All up and running and no signal drops etc. PS just to be safe I downloaded the base station patch before beginning the install. Cheers
Customer Review: Plugged in June of 1999 have not touched since Summary: 5 Stars
I bought this unit, plugged it in in June of 1999, set WPA, connected to a switch and I have not power cycled (on battery backup) or reset the unit since. AMAZING!
Too bad they dont make them like this anymore. Simple, functional and reliable year after year.
Thanks MS or whomever made this one.
