At the start of the reviews [on the first page] someone gave instructions on how to change the service from windows live to what ever you want, when you press the button on the top of the web cam. But if you do it, save the information so you can cut and paste updates into the right file. I changed it to Skype which works good because windows live was not working as good. Someone else gave the link to microsoft for the new download for the web cam. Which I did instead of using the CD. The cam controls for adding gain, backlight comp. ect. worked very good. I put a dab of epoxy under the cam holder to keep it from sliding around and falling off of the top of the LCD monitor when you turn the focus ring by the lens. The microphone works very good. If you need more microphone gain there is also a place in windows to do it. Over all for just over $25.00 from Amazon with free S&H I am more then happy with it. When I first started out with webcams, I naively listened to "the experts" and got a Logitech. Everyone said Logitech produced the best webcams, and so I paid $40 for a webcam that isn't worth $5 IMHO.
Get that? I paid more for my first webcam than for this one, and this one is at least 4 times better. Oh, and this one actually comes with useful webcam programs and better features allowing you to really take control of your picture quality....well...as much as you can for $35...
The video quality is brilliant, and unlike Logitech, it picks up light much better than a rock at the bottom of the ocean. (that was a pun on Logitech, because their lighting technology is absolutely horrid). I can use this in the dark and still be seen, as well as in the daylight, as well as anywhere, really. The next step up is much nicer, but for $35 the VX-3000 is the best webcam you can get for the price.

This is a great camera, with great video and audio quality. I read many of the negative reviews before I purchased the product, most of them having to do with audio quality, and I have had no such problems with this camera. There is virtually no delay in video and audio. I have known family members that have paid twice as much for cameras and they did not receive nearly this quality. I have recommended this camera to several people. I will say that there is one minor drawback for laptop users, and that is that the clip does not attach well. There is no tension in the clip so it sits only loosely on top of the laptop screen. And, as another user pointed out, the Windows Live button on the top of the camera somewhat gets in the way when making adjustments to the camera. However, these are simply minor drawbacks to a very good camera. I would highly recommend. I am buying a second one for my parents.Customer Review: Great webcam for cheap

This has a much better image quality than a built-in webcam. Another nice feature of the webcam is its stand, it can be placed on a desk or if you want to put it on a monitor you can have it pointed at any angle. You can basically put it on anything that has a ledge, i actually have it on the back of a laptop stand. The instructions aren't clear on all the features of the webcam, if the image is blurry or out of focus the black area around the lens turns for focal length adjustments. I recommend opening the webcam and turning it back and forth until the image is clear. Also there are ways to change the top button on the webcam a quick google search brings up a couple different options. To sum up this webcam has many features that are often overlooked until you get the webcam like the stand ant the fact that it can rotate the camera anyway you want.Customer Review: Pretty Decent

The reason I went for this item is that it was selling at half the rate in some deal here on Amazon & it had a good review.
I am happy with the product - installs very easily, has a good microphone and video quality & streaming is decent too. The one click call option is ofcourse useless, infact a little annoying because every time the button gets pressed (and it does frequently because of it's location) - a little message pops up.
I only bought it to chat with my family back home and the product is good for the price even without the discount. It wouldn't be fair to compare it with other more expensive webcams and so I am giving it a 5.
In short, if you're looking for something cheap, reliable and good quality, but not too fancy - go for vx 3000.
