This is my first web cam and I was quite pleased with the video quality and ease of installation. I installed the camera on a Windows Vista Home Premium machine and used Skype to video chat with my girlfriend while she was in Eastern Europe. She was quite happy with the resulting video quality. I definitely recommend this camera!
I bought it not expecting anything amazing but it actually is pretty darn good quality. It was easy to set up and figure out how to use too. Plus, the adjusting ring allows you to focus the video until it's clear.
If you're looking for a nice, affordable camera this is the one for you.

I just set up this cam today and have used it to video call my family in another state. The resolution could be better, but for the 20 bucks I spent on it, I won't complain. I'm very happy with it. You don't have to use the software that comes with it either, I downloaded skype and am happy with that too.Customer Review: newbie

I'm new to webcams and have found it both easy and enjoyable to use the VX1000. It installed quickly without disruption to my laptop, provides clear images, and decent audio quality. I wanted a webcam to chat internationally with friends. This is a good quality cam with a good picture. The built in mic picks up voices well enough so I don't need to use a separate mic. There are better cams for a lot more money but if you need a basic cam for chat this is one I would recommend.
