Works as described. Good value. We use it with Digi-Watcher as part of our home security setup. It runs all day (and sometimes all night) under changing indoor light conditions. It doubles as our Skype cam. Focused at about 5', it provides good depth of field, suitable for watching a whole room or a user seated right in front of it without refocus. The Microsoft Lifecam VX-1000 is very user-friendly. All you have to do is connect the usb cord your computer and it will start the program you uploaded (CD-rom included). You have an option of taking photos, videos or audio with the lifecam. The only negative thing about this product is that it tends to be not so clear at times, but for the most part a good buy for the price.Customer Review: Great product for the price...

This is the best value for the price that I have found online. The auto light settings for variable light conditions are very good and the video quality is great, for the price. The one drawback is that there is no clip attachment for those of us who would like to attach it to a monitor or something else, rather than set it on a shelf. I love this product! I know virtually nothing about webcams but what a great picture and sound. You can totally adjust all aspects of the picture and sound and it looks and sounds great. Price was definitly excellent as well. Also, easy to install. Just put in the disc, follow a few simple directions, plug it in and your ready to go. I am happy with my webcam good quality picture, the only downside is that the build in lightning is not that hot, you need an extra desk lamp, but beside that the picture is bright and body motion is of a good quality no freezing or sticking, camera goes with body motion. and the build in mic works better then I had expected. I LOVE THIS CAMERA
