I bought this camera to use while my husband is deployed. Not only is the picture terrific, but the in-line mike catches all the sounds in the house. Not only can he hear and see me, but he can hear our birds singing in the background, our nieces laughing, our teenage son leaving for work etc.. I purchased this camera to chat with my granchildren who are a 1000 miles away.
The Web Cam was easy to install, and the picture and video are crisp. I would recommend this camera to "us older" gang who are challenged when it come to these types of computer items.
I can now visit my grandchildren anytime I want, thanks to this Microsoft Lifecam.
A great buy and a better investment.

Like some other post here, IM a first time user of a web-cam. I picked the Microsoft LifeCam VX-1000 because of the reputation, and next because of the price. Very easy to set up and use, and comes with a few video effects. It sets very stable on my thin monitor, has decent video capture, the still shots are not bad at all either. I find the audio to be very acceptable. Cool little web-cam, and IM happy with it.Customer Review: Great value for the price

I bought two of these webcams, for me and my Navy son and his family so we could connect over the miles. I could not get Windows Live to work once I got us both loaded, so I deleted all the Windows programming and we now use Skype. It works just great and my young granddaughters are amazed. I just purchased two more for my daughters so everyone can be connected. Don't let the low price fool you, it works!Customer Review: Great product

This ia great purchase for the price paid. The camera is usefull to video chat sessions. Besides the still pictures quality is not so great, the video quality is acceptable to use on a video chat session. If you need to have a lot of video chat session for work, this won't be a great producto for you. This products is for home user and/or user who videochat sometimes. The mic built in works perfectly.
