Customer Review: How Can You Tell?
Summary: 5 Stars

There's been a great deal of discussion about the life span and quality of these and other disks here in comments, although interestingly, I've found far fewer when looking for them on the Internet. This seems to have been an issue a few years ago and less so now. I ordered and received in good order two 100 DVD spindles and immediately backed up a large number of photographic images to 100 of them before printing. There were no errors and the printing went well.

I'm wondering if some of the problems have to do with the age and quality of the DVD printers and readers people are using. I have a Lacie Firewire external burner, replacing one that had recently failed, and the hundred I immediately recorded were done on this unit. I have other much older DVD readers that are occasionally unable to read a particular file (CRC errors), but find they're readable on a newer device.

I have no other comments other than to say these DVD's recorded and printed without error, they were quite a bargain and I have no complaints. I don't know if the fact I was recording image files (RAW files and PhotoShop PSD's) as opposed to video or music files made any difference, but I'm not sure why they would.

Customer Review: Good Quality & Reliable DVD-R Blanks
Summary: 5 Stars

This is one of the several brands I find reliable for DVD-Rs. I barely find a coaster on the Memorex DVD-R's. It is as par as with the Maxells, Verbatim, Sony's and TDKs that I have used before. Try to stay away from unknown brands that is kind of a hit or miss.

This is the best way if you want to print your own titles and graphics. I use an old Epson R200 with a CD/DVD printer carriage. Using in combination with Paint Shop Pro editor, it works perfect. I stopped doing the stamp sticker label as it gives me problems with air bubbles and seems to make the DVD heavier to spin.

The thing with DVD's or CD's is that when you find a bad one, it seems to be bunched into the same stack as they were manufactured at the same place and at the same time. My recommendation is not to burn DVDs or CDs using the maximum speed, the chance of a bad burn tend to be much much less if you use the next slower speed indicated on the media. Same as filling up the data capacity, 4200mb seems to work best for me as filling up the DVD to the edge may become problematic.

Customer Review: Great Disks No Problems
Summary: 5 Stars

I bought these as I got a new burner with lightscribe which I thought these disks were for, however, that's my fault they aren't so I can't print on them, however, no big deal because I haven't had one problem with them. I've bought these particular disks 3 times before, and have had nothing but sucess with them, I'd recommend them to anyone. Personally I'd rather spend a few extra dollars for something I know has worked and I can trust than take a chance on a brand that's 10 bucks less and get stuck with crap! Made that mistake once, never again! Alternatively I buy Fuji disks when these go up in price and they also work very well. The last pack of 100 I bought of both brands, I havent had one bad burn and I'm almost empty again which is why I'm re-ordering.

Customer Review: Solid product
Summary: 5 Stars

I have a Panasonic DVR with a DVD burner, so I am able to dub recorded content off to DVDs to use later. However, over the years I have had a lot of trouble with recordable DVDs that evidently have bad spots that cause the DVR to stop recording. This wastes time and DVD-Rs.

Once I bought this brand of DVD-Rs, the incidence of those errors dropped dramatically. Not completely, but now the recording errors are rare instead of common.

Obviously this is a superior medium, and I highly recommend it.

Customer Review: Memorex DVD disc
Summary: 5 Stars

I have used about 10,000 Memorex DVD printable disc for various things that I have recorded and have had about 1% of them to be coasters. These disc are very dependable they playback on various dvd players and even on computer DVD-ROM. I have tried several other name brands and always comeback to using the Memorex. I have also tried these disc on several different DVD recorders and duplicators and they are consistly dependable. For the price they are the best DVD disc I have found. The printing also looks great.
