Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Mediabridge Ultra Series - High Speed HDMI Cable with Ethernet - (6 Feet) - Category 2 Certified - Supports 3D & Audio Return Channel [Latest HDMI Version Available]Customer Review: No complaints Summary: 5 Stars
This is a wonderful HDMI cable. I purchased a $69.99 Rocketfish HDMI cable from Best Buy, A $49.99 Monster HDMI cable from Hhgregg, and a $39.99 Sony HDMI cable from Walmart, and this cable performs just as good as any of them for ONLY $9.99! I must admit I was a little skeptical at first because the construction quality seemed questionable. The cable is slightly a little thinner than any other HDMI cable I own and I wasn't very confident in the outside rubber shielding, but when I plugged it in the back of my HP Pavillion Elite computer I recently purchased, the picture and sound were perfect.
I've watched Bluray Movies on my desktop and the picture quality seems to be exactly the same. I have my HP Pavillion hooked up directly to my receiver just like my PS3 and Xbox 360. Just to make sure the quality of my movies was the same I switched the Rocketfish(most expensive) HDMI cable I had in my PS3 and used it on my desktop, and the picture quality was the same. I noticed no difference. If you want real value for your money, I highly recommend this product.
Like I noted before, the construction quality is a little odd being the outside shielding of the cable is some type of rubber material, but it really works better for me as it is more flexible to bend than my other HDMI cables. Mediabridge has produced a cable that is both economic and of the highest quality as far as picture and sound go. I plan to purchase one more for my sattelite receiver to complete my entertainment setup. I am so glad this HDMI cable is sensibly priced!
Customer Review: Absolutely NOTHING wrong with these cables... Summary: 5 Stars
Just purchased a Panasonic TH-42PZ85U and upgraded my cable to HD. I'm also purchasing a PS3 in the coming weeks, so I needed additional HDMI cables. The ones that my cable provider left with me were fine, however the specs were below those of this cable. Less bandwidth, slower speed, and not version 1.3 Cat B. "Upgraded" to these cables, tested them both, and they both work fine. Absolutely no problems whatsoever. I will say that I don't really see much difference in the picture or sound compared to the original cables left by the cable provider, although after watching a basketball game in HD for a while with all cables for comparison, I'd say these cables were a little sharper.
Here's the bottom line...people will write a bad review about anything and everything, and will probably mention how they're in disbelief that anyone would ever order such a thing. Maybe I would too if something I purchased didn't work as expected. You're bound to come across a piece of equipment that has a defect, no matter what you buy. All I can say is, there are MANY more possitive reviews about this cable than there are negatives. I think that says something. For $10 you really can't beat the price, and I think the quality is top-notch. I don't buy in to the theory that "All cables are created equal" either, but I also wouldn't recommend going out and buying a $60+ cable. Do the research, and you'll find many lower-priced cables with the same specs as the higher priced cables that do just as good of a job...like this one!
Customer Review: GREAT QUALITY,SUPERB PICTURE AND SOUND!!!! Summary: 5 Stars
.....I purchased 3 of these cables and right from the start I was impressed. The packaging was perfect, small and durable. The quality of these mediabridge cables surpased my expectations, even after reading the positive reviews. It seems (from the nine one star reviews) that some people may have gotten lemons, because the construction and quality of all three that I purchased was amazing, especially for the price. I have plugged them in and removed them multiple times and have not had one single issue. (for example a couple reviewers said the gold connectors came right off, that didnt happen with mine, I even tugged at it, very sturdy.) If you are looking for a high end HDMI ver. 1.3 category 2 cable, without the high end cost, then look no further, this is it! I have both my HD cable box and my samsung bd4600 blu-ray player running too my receiver with these cables,(my receiver is the Denon AVR 990 it has five assignable HDMI ver.1.3 inputs and one out) Then my third cable is running out to my plasma t.v., which is the samsung 63" PNB590. The reason I threw out the size of my t.v., is just for the fact that I seen one review ( a bad one, 1 star I think) from someone that had a large screen t.v. and claimed that these might not work with a larger t.v. Not the case with mine, My picture and sound is PHENOMINAL, it couldnt be any better!! I am so glad I purchased these, (I got all three for less than 40.00) instead of the high end COST ones that I almost got talked into buying at ABC Warehouse and Best Buy.
Customer Review: Great Product at a great deal! Summary: 5 Stars
I bought this product for use with my PS3 and my 1080p Samsung 6 Series 120hz TV. After researching and reading both positive and negative reviews, I gave it a shot. After all at the price, I wouldn't feel too bad if it didn't work.
The shipping was fast, and the product was new and packaged really well in a box from Mediabridge. After plugging it in and having used it on the PS3 for both video games and Blu ray, I have to say I am overall impressed with the performance and highly recommend the product. So far so good. I'm thinking that there's probably 1 in 1000 people that may end up with a dud but I'm sure these guys are willing to swap for a new one, they seem pretty good in customer service.
I spoke to someone when researching TVs and cables who worked at Circuit City, prior to their bankruptcy, and he confirmed that monster apparently has the market cornered on cables at every electronic store known to man, and that the cable is really not the driver of the picture, its actually the TV's speed. Therefore, at 120hz you get the best picture regardless of the cable. At that point I put down the monster cable in my hand and have not turned back since...sorry guys!
Just something to think about before making a huge purchase on a cable. I'm sure there may be something to a known Brand like monster but at the end of the day there really is no difference in performance.
Definitely go with Mediabridge if you decide not to take the brand name route.
Customer Review: Excellent product and company! Summary: 5 Stars
Don't be fooled that there isn't a difference between HDMI cables because I can attest to the fact that there is a huge difference. I have an xbox 360 and a playstation. I previously have had three other cables... one by the way that was actually from Microsoft for the Xbox. I was continually having problems with them and at one point the picture just kept flashing in and out on me and I was having horrible ghosting problems. I thought maybe it was just the games but there were times when it was very obvious something was wrong with the picture. After reading reviews and finding out about the new 1.3 standard and what it would do for me I immediately ordered two cables even though I have a working one but it was older generation. I was skeptical as anyone about there really being a difference. When I received the cables I was immediately impressed with the craftsmanship of the cables. The cord is very thick and tight at the connections. They just felt like high quality cords much like the monster cables feel. It was obvious this company took pride in what they do. When I hooked up my components I immediately played a game that I had been playing with the older generation cords and MAN was there a difference. The colors were brighter and the issues I was having before were eliminated. They were very prompt in shipping also. This is the company for me for anything I need if they sell it. Excellent in all aspects.. kudos mediabridge.
