Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Mediabridge Ultra Series - High Speed HDMI Cable with Ethernet - (10 Feet) - Category 2 Certified - Supports 3D & Audio Return Channel [Latest HDMI Version Available]Customer Review: Good value, and I like the end connectors Summary: 5 Stars
OK, not much you can say about a cable, unless you get one that is bad or "flakey" from a problem with the shield, as we read from a previous posting.
I recently upgraded my HDTV system and now have a HDTV, Blue-ray, and Receiver that supports the HDMI 1.3 spec. This spec enables new high bandwidth features previously not supported in older HDMI cables and equipment. Both the Blue-ray and the HDTV, and my Roku-Netflix box are firmware upgradeable, so this cable should support their enhancements for at least a couple of years.
Being the quintessential anal-retentive Electrical Engineer, I tend to over analyze everything (even if not required). When buying cables (typically, the weak link in most systems), you have to determine if the product is manufactured from a reputable vendor, or built by a couple of guys in their garage, with no quality control. Mediabridge Products is a subsidiary of Broadband Products, Inc. Broadband Products has HDMI certification (see hdmi.org for why this is important).
There are two types of HDMI cable, Standard (Category 1) and High Speed (Category 2), and they have different performance metrics. A Standard cable can transmit a 1080i signal for 15 meters (49 feet) or more, while a High Speed HDMI cable can transmit a 1080p signal for at least 7.5 meters (25 feet). For the most part, running cables less than 5 meters, either will work, but I want to make sure and this cable is Category 2.
Why did I buy this specific cable from this vendor: The vendor has an almost perfect feedback record, the product is low cost for the specs, fulfilled by Amazon, and importantly free shipping, and a return policy that pays the shipping for returns/exchanges of defects.

Customer Review: Stop reading this and buy these already!!!!! Summary: 5 Stars
I dont work for the company or anything just so everyone knows......I ordered 4 of these in place of a Phillips HDMI, an INSIGNIA HDMI and a 2 pack of VIZIO HDMI cables of which I purchased for a total of over $130!!!!! These cables produce the same quality of the VIZIO cables and they are more HEAVY DUTY FEELING and 3 foot longer each and WAY WAY WAY cheaper!!!!! Not to mention that they support ARC (audio return channel)and 3D! I have 1 hooked to a 120hrtz Aquios LCD 42inch and the other 3 hooked up to a 42inch Panasonic Viera Plasma to connect an XBOX360, a PS3 and a HD Sat Receiver box and everything and I mean everything looks amazing, spectacular, phenomenal, particularly the 1080p Signal that I now get from my xbox (the other cable I was using was a 1080p cable but only getting 1080i to my plasma) this cable gets the "P" to the 1080!!!! for $12 you cant go wrong and I can tell you that for a fraction of what I paid for the other cables these are way better, produce better picture, sound great, feel very well made compared to the other cables that are being returned to the store and you get more length for way less dollars.....IT ALL ADDS UP PEOPLE, JUST BUY THESE AND STOP READING THIS ALREADY! I'M SURE YOU GET THE POINT!
FLAWLESS GREAT PRODUCT FOR A GREAT PRICE, AND READING OTHER REVIEWS I AM POSITIVE THAT IF I EVER NEED ANYTHING FROM MEDIABRIDGE THAT THEY WILL BE THERE TO HELP.
P.S..... BLU-RAY LOOKS INSANE!
Customer Review: Excellent value - don't get ripped off with bogus pricey HDMI Summary: 5 Stars
I ordered this cable the same day I bought a pricey, "wave of the cape, poof of smoke, shuck and jive" Forest brand 6 ft. HDMI cable at Best Buy's magic, fabulous "Magnolia Room" for $60 (BestBuy item # 9510745). A few business days later my Mediabridge arrived from Mediabridge as shipper via the online Amazon purchase and I got to work comparing the performance. I did lots of hopping up and down, plugging and unplugging, and rewinding, comparing identical areas of the screen on a new 1080p, 600hz 50" Panasonic plasma tv. As a professional nature photographer I spend a lot of time peering intently at digital images to detect subtle differences in sharpness, color and resolution. Using the same brand new Panasonic BluRay disc player for both BluRay and older DVDs, and also screen capture off my relatively new laptop of both my own professional digital photos and of downloaded Netflix movies,
I could detect ABSOLUTELY NO DIFFERENCE between the fairly priced Mediabridge HDMI cable and the grotesquely overpriced $60, so-called "premium" cable by Forest, from BestBuy. And actually, at BestBuy "the Dude" had wanted to get me an $80 cable "for optimal performance". The smoke and mirrors from the "Magnolia Room" is utter rubbish...BUY THIS CABLE and IGNORE THE HYPE!!! I bought both a six foot and a 10 ft. Mediabridge... the six foot is a couple bucks cheaper.
Customer Review: Great customer service & product Summary: 5 Stars
After reading all the high reviews on the cable, I had ordered two. The shipment came quicker than expected as well as packaged very good. The cables I recieved have 1.3c labeled on them. I am not a new commer to HDMI by no means but then again I dont devote my life to it either so I had to research what the differance was. Come to find out its the latest version over a & b to handle more for future products, now rather that makes a huge differance to some of at this time who knows but at least I know its future proof for awhile. For the price I paid for two of these 10ft cables (with shipping) I saved around $20-50 (depending on the name brand) for just 1 10ft cable from the brick stores. The thing that sold me the most on these cables besides the great price & feed back was the customer service. If you happen you look at a few of the negitive feed backs (in which thier are hardly any) you will see someone from Mediabridge replying to it. IF you look at Amazon reviews such as I do (on most product) how many times have you seen a supplier check the feed back and reply to it? I dont think I ever have in the past 2yrs, or at least not the items I have looked at. Given the product, the price, the reviews and the customer service its pretty much hands down my choice for cables now on.
Customer Review: The Perfect HDMI cable for the Playstation 3 or any Blu-Ray player Summary: 5 Stars
After researching and reading reviews of the Mediabridge Ultra Series HDMI cable I found the following:
* Category 2 Certified - High-Speed 10.2 gbps / 340 MHz (Supports up to 240hz Refresh Rates and 48-Bit Deep Color).
* Version 1.3 Certified - Supports all new HDMI advanced features such as Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master AudioTM.
* Supports 1080p FullHD Resolution.
* Fully Shielded Heavy Duty 28 Gauge Premium Grade Cable with Soft PVC Jacket.
* Gold Plated Shielded Connectors.
This information made the decision very simple as I knew that it had the same quality and features found with more expensive brands. The item shipped fast and was received on the first estimated delivery day. This was a relief and allowed me to set up my Playstation 3 to my 50" DLP TV at 1080P.
The image quality was above those of some more expensive brands after calibrating the TV to the output of the system. The image was reproduced perfectly with no ghosting. For the price, this is the best product for the money. You will be more than happy with this product that works consistently and perfectly. It is sturdy and durable, overall a thick cable that inspires confidence.
