If your considering the purchase of this based on the previous reputation of Maxell, think again. This DVD seems to have a mind of it's own as to whether it activates once you place it into your DVD player. If you do end up with the screen prompts don't consider yourself one of the lucky few! It does not possess the quality or capability to properly clean the DVD laser in the very least! Complete and utter junk.

Customer Review: Didn't work on Philips DVD Recorder

Not being sure what was going on with our Philips DVD Recorder lately - it still plays okay, skipping occasional, but the recording feature has become utterly useless - I tried this product last week. It just has a small bristle on the DVD apparently to clean dust. Cleaned it multiple times. It didn't do a thing.
I finally found a page on the badly written non-indexed manual of our recorder that says because of the high power used by the laser in the recorder, disc cleaners are a no no. You may want to refer to your manual before buying this cleaner.

I've tried this cleaner in everything that I can put it into in my house (2 DVD players, 2 CD players, and 2 DVDrom drives on the computer)and haven't had anything read it yet. It either says "NO DISC" or just keeps spinning trying to read it. Sure will be easy to return I hope.Customer Review: DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT!!!

This DVD "Cleaner" does not work. It will not play, it just hangs, and it can damage your unit. There is no phone number to call. It is outrageous that this company thinks it can get away with this. I had an older version of this product which worked in our DVD players, but this one doesn't work. The players can't read the disc. I also noted that the amount of bristles on this disc are fewer than the amount of bristles on their older version.
