The Timex rain gage I purchased for under $3 is a bargan. It is about a foot tall and tapered so that small amounts of rain can be messured more accurately. It appears to be good quality plastic. Time will tell how well it does in the hot Phoenix sun. I have had it a month and it has not rained yet so I am still waiting to use it. I ordered it from Amazon and it arrived the next day!! and I was not charged for delivery.
