We first encountered the Magellan GPS System as Herz' "Neverlost" and were amazed at how helpful it was on a trip through "terra incognito" in northern Florida. We were so impressed that we bought one for our family car, and, although it has only been used once so far, it fully met expecations. It is especially impressive when you veer off the intended path (accidentally or intentionally) and it instantly recalculates the route to get you where you wanted to go.Customer Review: Magellan 4000 gets a thumps up.

This is my first portable GPS unit. Terrific price for this model compared to the competition. All accessories needed for setup are included and simple to setup. The unit itself is straight forward in usage. I have no complaints thus far for what I use the unit for. Battery seems to hold a charge for a reasonable amount of time, but I would recommened dimming the screen to help preserve it. No problems so far and I look forward to years of trouble free use.Customer Review: I love it!

We used our Magellan on our last road trip to three Young Writer's Conferences in three different cities and it was incredible! The very pleasant female voice instructed us so well that we arrived at each destination with no problems at all. As someone who can get lost in my own neighborhood, I was definitely impressed with the precision of the Magellan. The instructions were pleasantly delivered and were accurate in every detail. "Maggie" Magellan is a wonderful companion when wandering around the U.S. No GPS seems to be perfect with regard to selecting the shortest or fastest route to a destination; but if you're not familiar with the area into which you've driven, Maggie will help you find your destination and get you to where you want to go. The widescreen is nice & bright. I like being able to use the device as a handheld portable away from a power source.Customer Review: Great little gadget

I love this gadget. Road trips are one of my favorite pastimes and my Maestro is always with us. I recently purchased a second Maestro 4000 for my father's birthday and he is just as happy with his. It has all of the necessary bells and whistles to get me from point A to B and I don't have to print up maps from online sites anymore. It quickly reroutes when taking a detour and has a simple "get me home" button. Highly recommended.
