I bought this iPod A/V cable for the price, even though it seemed shady b/c its cheap, and it works flawlessly! I can't believe that I was considering paying for other expensive A/V cables from Apple or Monster that do the same thing. It's 3 feet long and the color bands are on the outside, which make it easy to hook up to your TV. All of my Videos, TV Shows, and Movies are sharp and true to their original form. The only thing you need to be aware of is changing your video settings to TV Output on your iPod. I've seen tons of reviews for all brands of iPod A/V cables complaining that they don't work, when it is the user/owner who didn't take the time to figure out that you have to change the video settings. This is the best $5 I ever spent for the results that you get!Here is what you have to do;
Setting Up Your iPod Video Options Before Watch iPod Video on TV
1.Turn on your iPod, choose Videos -> Video Settings from your main iPod menu. This screen will show three settings: TV Out, TV Signal and Widescreen.
2.Select TV Out, make sure you select "On" that will produce TV signal.
3.TV Signal: If you live in the U.S., your TV works with the NTSC standard. European countries mostly use PAL.
4.Widescreen: You can choose "On" to produce a widescreen signal (16:9), or "off" to export the traditional TV output (4:3).

I bought this cable to connect my Samsung Captivate phone to my Car's head unit for Audio & Video. It works great! I am able to watch Youtube and see my Phone's GPS on Car's head unit now.
I tried another cable before this, which had bulky plastic on the 3.5mm side and it was not going in completely into my captivate - so it didn't work. But this one fits perfectly as it is very thin plastic.
Also, the connectors' color codes match (Yellow to Yellow) - unlike some other cables that I tried.
The quality of the cable is very good and the price is very cheap - shipped from United Inegral.
I would be more happy, if the cable came in black color!
Like other reviewer's said it may not work on new IPhones but there's nothing wrong with the cable - Apple wants $49 for something that's worth $3 so they blocked the generic cables on their devices.

The inexpensive cable (similar cables elsewhere cost upwards of 40 dollars) turned my 30gb video iPod into a part time DVR. I don't see how anyone could pass on this deal!?! The only bad reviews I've read are from people who have later than 5.5 generation iPods (iPod Classics or touch) this won't work with their model but if you have any of the earlier models then this cable is essential. I ordered mine with an additional travel charger which cost only 2 dollars extra (bringing the order up to a grand total of 7.99 shipped!!) this is convenient because you can plug in your iPod while you are displaying videos and it won't discharge in the middle of the viewing. This is the best $1.67 I've ever spent.

This cable is great for the 5th generation ipod I use and now I can watch it on TV instead of watching it on the computer like I use to.The picture is great and looks like a DVD and this thing is so awesome and now its easier to watch movies,music videos and anything else.At first I only had the audio working not the video.You have to switch the video settings on the ipod.Another thing I like about this cable is that the other end can be used to charge the ipod while you watch the video,I think all the cable have this but it's nice.This ipod cable is cheap so you don't have to spend $50 on other ipod cables.Just make sure you know what generation ipod it is before you buy this because it works with 4th,5th,& 5.5 generations only not the newer ones.Customer Review: Ignore bad reviews indicating this does not work

Those folks obviously did not take the time to read ipod use instructions for video output or perhaps need to apply a firmware or software update to the ipod itself. Omission of any of those things could cause the ipod to not function properly. This is not the fault of the cable. A cable is a cable. Period. I have generation 4 and 5 ipods, 60gb and 80gb. It works with both. Even works for photos! Works beautifully and it is practically FREE! I bought 3 of them and have enjoyed video from ipod on TV's here, there and everywhere. Was not able to use it in a hotel once as the video input for the TV was disabled. Otherwise, it is something a 10 year old could use ( if they read the instructions! )
