Customer Review: Much Better Than Store Bought Monitors
Summary: 5 Stars

I didn't think I needed a video monitor, but I kept getting up in the night to check on our baby. This let me stay in bed and see and hear him. So many people we know complained of their video monitors picking up the video of their neighbor's babies! Well, we certainly didn't want someone to be able to see and hear inside our house! I'm not sure about the technical part but this monitor is made by a security company and they scramble the signal so that no one can pick it up, ensuring the safety of your baby. My only complaint is that the battery doesn't last very long, so we keep it sitting in the cradle most of the time. It has an adjustable alarm that you can set to go off if your baby is crying, that way if you are sleeping and the crying doesn't wake you up, the alarm will. You can adjust the volume. Easy to install and easy to use! I love it!

Customer Review: Excellent system, good value
Summary: 5 Stars

I looked at the other two similar systems available and this one is the best in my opinion:

Setup is extremely easy - charge and turn on. Picture quality both day and night vision are excellent.
Camera can be rotated at good variety of angles and can be battery powered (though night vision would drain batteries quickly).
It's digital, so neighbors can't see your cameras and you can't see theirs instead of yours.

What differentiated this from the other ones for me was:

1) availability of additional cameras, up to 4 that can be monitored from same receiver, and
2) this system uses Frequency Hopping Spread Spectrum technology, so it can co-exist with your 802.11b/g access points. I was able to use my laptop over 802.11g just fine while using the camera receiver right next to it.

Customer Review: Great product !
Summary: 5 Stars

I read many reviews before getting the Lorex product, and saw that many folks out there encountered poor reception and poor image problems with various products. For that reason I focused on the highest resolution available in the market, and it was well worth the extra 25% of the price.
The Lorex product works exactly as advertised! Surprisingly satisfying video for a cordless system! Good color, good contrast.
It works well in the room with lights on (I didn't try dark conditions as I don't need that) as well as outside.

The whole thing can be totally cordless, which for me was crucial. The monitor simply charges while on the cradle, and the camera takes regular batteries in its base and works flawlessly. (The camera obviously works on direct power as well)

Highly recommended !

Customer Review: AMAZING....

I had originally tried the Sharx SCX2601LD 2.4 GHz Wireless Pan Tilt because you could move the camera around the room remotely. It stopped working after 15 minutes.

I replaced it with the Lorex and it's been incredible. I have the camera in the basement and the monitor upstairs. I get the clearest picture ever and absolutely no interference of any kind.

It did bother me that the sound would only come on when the baby would make a noise. I liked having a constant sound. But I quickly got used to it. There is about a 1.5 second delay between when the baby makes a sound and when you hear it on the monitor.

We've had this for about 1 month now. It's constantly on and still works beautifully.

An awesome buy, even if I can't tilt the camera remotely.

Customer Review: it works!
Summary: 5 Stars

This is a great video system that i would recommend to any parent. The reception (at least in our home) is great, both upstairs and downstairs. If there was anything to nitpick at, it would be the cost of the additional camera. It's so easy to use and works so well, that I wouldn't mind getting a second camera but when the cost is almost as much as the entire system, it becomes hard to justify the second camera. Otherwise, money well spent.

Years ago, we bought a portable video system from a large chain store and it sucked. Reception was always coming in and out and so now I assume that the technology has improved because we're not getting any interference. It's a clean steady image and the sound is good too.
