I love my Logitech x-230 2.1 2-Piece Dual Drive Speakers with Ported Subwoofer. My friends are buying a set too. If you want a non-technical review, then here goes. I was instantly pleased with this set. I also own Ohms, and Advent speakers on other stereo equipment, so I know good sound when I hear it. The set up was very easy, delivery was quick. The price was right! The style of the speakers look very modern and the subwoofer fits comfortable under my new glass computer table. The on/off switch is located easily on the speaker. The sound quality is good for my computer use. I don't blast the neighbors, nor do I make the floor boards move with the base sounds, even though the speakers have the capacity to do so. If you are interested in a good pair of speakers for a computer to listen to your tunes, then I recommend these speakers. Enjoy!Customer Review: great for a dorm room

I went to college with my laptop thinking its speakers would be more than enough to enjoy my music in the dorm... wrong. A lot of people have side speakers to go with their laptops, so I invested in these and they have been nothing but perfect for me.
These speakers are a great value, look nice and provide a deep rich sound that fills a good space. When I read the other reviews, I noticed that people were complaining about there being too much bass coming from the subwoofer, but I did not notice that problem. I have played everything from rock to classical on these speakers and none of it suffers from too much bass. Admittedly, the genres of techno and metal tend to REALLY get a nice boost from these.
Overall, a great investment for the college student who isn't satisfied with his or her internal computer speakers.

....you missed out on the best $30 speakers you'd ever have owned!! I was impressed enough with my first set in the first 5 minutes that I RAN (before they were discovered!) to buy another set just to have it! I ended up with a set upstairs and the other downstairs. My 2M sq ft house now rivals friggin Carnegy Hall!!!(LOL) After 6 yrs of my abuse, the sub downstairs has developed a slight "tweet" under some bass conditions, so I searched for a possible replacement for it and found to my amazement that this set is selling now for $150!!! LOL Seriously, the price of this speaker set, after hearing it "perform", made me think someone made a big mistake on the pricing!! I've settled on the Z523 set, but fear that they will fall short of the magnificence of the X-230's. So if you really want a set, dig deep!!! Just a couple of days ago I upgraded my PC speakers with this item that I saw at very reasonable price from Amazon. The improvement is extremely noticeable. I didn't want a window-buster as we have a home theater system in the living room. I just wanted something for the office/den that I could listen to my music downloads on and enjoy a more realistic sound from my flight simulator. This unit more than satisfies both needs. The speakers have a clear quality with more than adequate power. I would recommend to anyone who wants an appropriate speaker system for his/her Windows Media Center not to purchase anything less than this unit. This great little inexpensive item works for me. The Logitech X-230 2.1 speaker system is AC powered. An AC cord is hardwired into the subwoofer, the subwoofer is connected to the speakers with a D-Sub cable supplied with the system and the two speakers are hardwired to one another. A hardwired audio jack from the speakers connects to the stereo audio out jack in a computer. There is a volume adjustment on the back of the sub-woofer. The right speaker has an on-off switch, a volume adjustment for the entire system and a headphone jack.
Considering the size and price of these speakers, the sound is fantastic. The subwoofer is capable of producing a huge bass output. I have mine turned down to a very low level and the bass is still strong. I recommend these speakers to anyone looking for good performance from relatively inexpensive computer speakers.
