This is an awesome product for the money. Amazon sells this item at about a third of what the big chain stores want.
These speakers sound GREAT for the cost...you can't go wrong.
The bass can be overwhelming but the subwoofer level control located on the rear of the subwoofer enclosure can knock it down to a reasonable level. I'm confused by some comments saying that the sub control is hard to find...it's right there on the back of the subwoofer.
Here is one area needing improvement:
1. I wish the subwoofer control would reduce the bass output a little more. Even at the lowest level it can be a little too loud. Repositioning the subwoofer helps.
The two satellite speakers have a mesh semi-transpearant black fabric grill covering the dual-driver speakers. This is not obvious in the product pictures. I was happy to find this to be the case...I thought the speakers were unprotected from curious fingers but the grill fabric provides adequate protection.
Great speakers, great price. What are you waiting for?

I purchased these speakers for my home computer based on the wide variety of positive reviews and I must say that I'm very pleased. I would say that for the price they are an excellent value but frankly they sound great no matter what they had cost.
I've had them cranking everything from rock to jazz to "light" (James Taylor) music and in all cases they've been clear and distortion-free, even at high volumes. The bass unit pumps the bass nicely.
I cannot answer for ease of set up, because my son set them up for me. He did mention that some of the cables were short, but I would not let that be a deterrent to you.
They're compact and pleasing to look at--two tweeters per speaker with a simple black look and thin screen, which to me would mean be careful if kids are around them.
In summary though, I can't imagine a better upgrade for your computer. My desktop is a new Dell, which came with, I think 5 cent speakers. These new speakers let me enjoy my music while I work, write emails or surf the net. For the money, you can't pass them up.

I just picked up these babies the other day,and I have to say I love em!My previous Altec Lansing 2.1/Sub system decided to start popping and shorting out,after having it for less than 6mths so I was forced to buy new speakers.I shopped around a little bit,exploring my options and not wanting to go over $100.Logitech sound better than others in its price range.With the Logitechs you get the best sound for your money,and at $50 you simply cant beat this system.The dual drivers are awesome,and produce rich,crisp highs while the subwoofer pounds out extreme bass that you can feel all over the house.I thought the Altec's sounded good till I heard these....much clearer,and no distortion in the sub when you crank it up.I listen to all kinds of music(mostly dance)Let me tell you this system can handle anything.I keep the volume on both the woofers and the sub turned way down,because with well crafted speakers like these you dont need to turn it up all the way to get the best sound.To sum it all up,if ya want that "extra"kick to add to your computer or gaming system go out and buy these!!!Customer Review: Five stars for value, a dollar per watt, Heavy Bass

Two years with this system and I think I know what it can do.
It is just the thing for those rocket explosions and jet takeoffs. Gaming is the mode here although it is not bad for general use either.
Be warned, the mid-range suffers slightly if you have a critical ear.
But for 33 dollars, this is a well built 32 watt RMS system which is Heavy on the Bass, and quite good overall.
This system is a vast improvement over the little speakers that come with some computers, or for that matter over many comperable add-on systems.
You can use an equalizer, either your PC software, or an software add on to get better results.
Although some of the midrange is lacking, using the equalizer "smoothing" control helps a great deal,
If you see one of these and need a general purpose amp, or gaming amp, snap it up. It is better than the newer Logitech systems such as the x240.
Be warned, it can rock your house with all that bass and sub-bass.
Altogether, it is alot of bang for the buck.

I spent a few days reading reviews on Amazon and decided to take a chance with the Logitech 230. I was inspired to change my humble teen tiny modest speakers when I heard the fantastic sound carrying from a very expensive D*** speakers in my office. I was nervous about what some $33.00 (S/H included) speakers on Amazon could do. But as I type I am listening and finding it hard to differentiate between the far from affordable ones in my office and this baby. Its an absolutely fantastic listening pleasure to own one of these. I don't know anything about Signal to Noise Ratio, or FDD2 Satellite Technology,watt power, RMS Power or any other technical stuff that's discussed by other reviewers. But I sure trust my ears and my heart and they both give this piece of equipment two thumbs up. It won' disappoint. My only solitary "complaint" is the sub-woofer control being on the sub-woofer which almost all of us will keep under, not on the desk...as such its a little inaccessible but hey!!...not a biggie. Go no further, trust me your search has ended.
