Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Logitech x-230 2.1 2-Piece Dual Drive Speakers with Ported SubwooferCustomer Review: logitech X-230 review Summary: 5 Stars
Purchased this about a month ago.
Really can not be beat for the money.
Loud enough for my use, it can fill up
a room and if the windows are open my
neighbors can enjoy my music, which they
told me so after some late night partying.
These will not blow the doors off however.
For serious listining you probably want a software
equalizer to enjoy all of your music on your
PC. They do have a personality which is a bit
boomy on the bass, even when subwoofer is
turned all the way down. Overall it is a
enjoyable dramatic nice upgrade for a set of PC speakers.
Pleased with the price of $40 or less
on line. Being an engineer the short cables
are not a problem at all ha ha. Software equalizer
is required if you want to go audiophile.
Listin to MP3 from the 70's and
80's which have very bad mastering in the first
place. Good buy for the money and would highly
recommed, I enjoy them. A no brainer.
Question why do the newer model technologies
under perform the older ones such as the X-230????
New models are newer cheaper and BADDER!
Happy I purchased these while they are still
available!

Customer Review: Best speakers for under $70 Summary: 5 Stars
It's still early in January 2005 and it's the right time for manufacturers to introduce their new line of inexpensive 2.1 speakers. Presently, for less than $70 and without any new models from competitors, the Logitech X-230 speakers are my choice.
With the subwoofer's rear knob turned to the maximum, distortion from the subwoofer is not noticeable. I've set the knob between 3 and 4 out of 10 to get the amount of bass which nearly suits my taste in bass. In comparison, my taste in bass is being able to hear a thumpy to boomy bass drum attack on Buddy Rich's Time Being 5 minute drum solo.
Depending on the type of audio played, when the volume is cranked higher than "normal" listening levels, the satelites will distort. The speaker's midrange can be improved with your computer's graphic equalizer.
The gaming control device, which was included with the Logitech X-220's, is not included with the X-230's.
These speaker's warranted a 5 star rating because of it's quality sound for the price. Set at comfortable levels on the speakers and your computer, the X-230's will easily fill a 200 square foot room with clean and distortion free sound.
Customer Review: Yes Indeed!! Summary: 5 Stars
I'm not sure there is a better deal on the market. I've owned Altecs, Bose, and a stunning pair of Technics 15" 3way that would have blown the two previous away. I am a musician and once had a studio and let me tell you, this speaker set is the real deal. Forget about buying a Stereo, these are more than pc speakers, they are big sound audio and if you have a good program with an equalizer, it gets even better. The dynamics are crystal clear and the bass is awesome! Hook up is simple, the sub woofer has its own volume which you can set and forget, the master volume can be controled on the right satelite. You'll probably have to adjust your EQ if you listen to different styles of music, rest easy, there's virtually no distortion and that's impressive.
I do have one complaint and it's legit; the wires between the two satelites are too short and that does not allow you to spread these little gems out and they do deserve better with the quality of sound they put out.
High praise for Amazon.com for offering these at a definite bargin and you'll not find any better, certainly not for this price. I recieved my order within 5 days and it was nicely packed.
Thank You Amazon & Logitech, for a five star package.
Customer Review: Good Bang for Buck Summary: 5 Stars
I was looking for speakers that had a decent price good quality and size. So it all came down to the Logitech X-230 2.1 speaker system. I am quite a Logitech fan and I have trusted their products. So judging by the price and good reviews and good size I ordered it. When it came I was very excited even knowing it was supposed to come earlier. When I looked at it heard something banging around in the subwoofer. I was worried that something may have happened during its trip to my location. I looked through the port hole and I saw a cardboard tube that was banging around and I knew it was to the port hole. So the following day I came home and pried off the driver cover to the subwoofer and took the driver out then I took the tube and attached it to the porthole. later I held my breath and turned on the system it sounded perfect, it was crisp with no distortion. I play games watch movies and listen to music with them. I do have two cons about this system which are not a big deal. The sub volume control is on the back and the cord connecting the stattelites is a bit short but it works with me I love them and glad I made this purchase regardless of my hassle with it earlier. So over all I give this a full five!!
Customer Review: Perfect! Summary: 5 Stars
Ok after recently installing a new sound card I needed some new speakers to really make it sound good. I was using an old pair of JBL PC speakers that had a lot of hiss in the background but sounded just "okay." So in searching I was checking out a 2.1 system from Creative on both here and at Circuit City's website. After reading and comparing the specs of both comparably priced sets I decided the X-230 by Logitech was the best buy. Not only did I get $50 speakers for way less they sound and look great as well. Setup was very easily laid out by color and connector so even the novice computer user can figure it out. They produce a nice full sound and don't seem to miss any sound in music or in games which is what I do on my PC. I also don't have the bass turned up very much but it is very effective. My major selling point on these was the fact that they had a much better SNR than many of the other 2.1 sets out there. This results in very clear sound with no hiss or pops whatsoever. My only negative I had is that the mesh on the front of the 2 speakers is quite thin and could easily be punctured. Other than that, these speakers sound great so if you are looking for a 2.1 system give these a try!
