Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Logitech x-230 2.1 2-Piece Dual Drive Speakers with Ported SubwooferCustomer Review: FABULOUS deal! Summary: 5 Stars
This speaker system is simply amazing for its price! I've only had the system for a short amount of time, but it has well exceeded my expectations. I bought this system for the purpose of boosting my worthless laptop speakers. I'm pretty much constantly listening to music, but I'm also a poor college student, so I need to get a system that had the best bang for its buck.
Honestly, this system has some serious power to it for its size. I've tested it with all types of music: techno, indie rock, jazz, hip hop, reggae, classical and its held up well with everything. Bass is very impressive and you can definitely feel its vibrations when you crank it. When you turn up your laptop volume, speaker, and subwoofer bass all the way the sound can definitely do a number on your ears; mine were ringing after I first tested it. But don't worry, if you are someone who isn't going to crank the volume full blast, like myself, it handles quieter volumes very well.
The only thing I would say is that if you are someone looking for a surround sound system I wouldn't necessary recommend this system. You need to bump up to a system with more speakers. With this set up the best sounds comes if you have the speakers relatively near to you.
Although, aside from that I would seriously recommend this system to anyone who wants an excellent system at a wonderful price!
Customer Review: Another amazing Logitech Product Summary: 5 Stars
These are probably the best consumer 2.1 Speaker set you can get. If you are into basic multimedia fuctionality, use your computer speakers just to watch clips, listen to music, or any such things on a regular, but not constant basis, these are PERFECT for you.
This is a very easy speaker set to set up, are wall adjustable, have a strong clean bass, strong frame with adjustable knobs, clean sleek design, has a helpful and easy to read manual, and is compatable with Macs and home video game consoles. Some would say the bass is a little heavy, but it's adjustable, and there are some EQ things you can adjust on your computer to get the sound you want.
Now, don't get me wrong. These are great speakers, but not for hardcore video game players or movie buffs. First off, you have to realize they are a 2.1 Speaker set, meaning a left speaker, a right speaker, and a subwoofer. People that are into multimedia functionality wouldn't get a 2.1 set anyways, you'd want to get a 5.1 or 7.1 depending on what your sound card is capable of. For the price, these speakers are must have. The only speakers better than these in the 2.1 size are the Logitech Z-2300s, but they are three times the cost, so you're better off with these unless you are looking for amazing speakers with storage in mind.
BOTTOM LINE: For $35, you can't go wrong with this product.
Customer Review: A great set once its tuned properly Summary: 5 Stars
Iv had this set for well over a year now. First off ima agree with a lot of the people that gave bad reviews due to its super punchy loud bass. The bass is indeed very loud even when you turn the bass knob all the way down. All this really means tho is that you just have to know how to set the system up properly and find good placement for the speakers. These kind of systems that have subs like this are ment for the sub to be placed on the floor or be tucked away somewhere. once you do that then the bass will even out much better and you will have a cleaner look since you dont got a big black box on your desk or table. Please peeps, the sub on this system is not ment to sit on your desk or table top XD .. I have my sub under my desk and to the rear but up off of the floor touching the underside of the desk top so where i sit, the sub is out of site and no it does not vibrate tho whole desk XD ... This system sounds great for games, music, or movies tho my wife and i mainly use it for music and games. It defiantly has the ability to submerge you into the music and makes large fight scenes sound epic!. Logitech knows how to make great pc peripherals and the x-230 is proof of that. Just remember that part of a great sound system is a good setup and speaker placement. Even a Bose system can sound like crap if not setup properly.
Customer Review: From anemic to.... AWESOME in about 10 minutes. Summary: 5 Stars
... YES !! this is a POWERED speaker set(110 V AC). I had a bunch of music files in my PC that I just wasn't enjoying all that much. Unless I listened to them on my headphones, they just sounded pathetic as they played through the small set of Sony's that I used as monitors. So, on the advice from a friend/computer-geek/musician, I looked into some powered speakers and after a bit of poking around on the internet, I chose the x-230 set from Logitec. OMG What A Difference.. Why had I put up with such crappy sound for so long? (Ummm.. stupidity perhaps?). Anyway, I read the other reviews and decided that the miniscule bit of negatives were just people being nit-picky, so I ordered a set. They arrived 2 days later and I had them installed in around 10 minutes. The sound from these relatively small speakers is fantastic and the bass is truly deep and rich from the sub-woofer. Bass intensity is adjustable via a knob on the sub-woofer, overall volume is adjustable on the front panel of the R-hand speaker and there is even a headphone jack next to the volume controll for you late nighters with family members trying to sleep (they try to sleep.. But I tend to sing along w/the music.. Ooops!). Overall, I'm extremely happy with the x-230 speakers.

Customer Review: Great speakers at a good price Summary: 5 Stars
I use these speakers with my laptop and I love them. Even though the speakers and woofer are relatively small, they create a lot of sound. People are always surprised by how loud they are for their size. The sound is clear and detailed. The bass has a great thump, especially since I keep the woofer under my desk in the space made for the pc tower (the sound bounces off the wood and amplifies the thump of the bass). I keep the woofer dial in the middle and when I want to really pump up my music, I move the dial on the speakers to a little past the middle (I keep the volume on my laptop set to the max). They make listening to music and watching movies more pleasurable. However, these speakers aren't powerful enough to provide the full, surround sound required for something like a party. In my opinion, these speakers reach their loudest and best quality sound when the dial is set to just past the middle (both on the speaker and woofer). I've been told that the type of sound card used also has an effect on sound quality but I don't for myself because I have a standard sound card in my laptop. These speakers are a great buy for frugal music lovers [though they're no longer as cheap as they were before-$31.99 in May 200] who don't have a lot of space for large speakers.
