Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Logitech mm50 Portable Speaker System for iPod (White)Customer Review: great speakers Summary: 5 Stars
I really love these little speakers, they pack quite a punch and have been really handy. Great buy!
PROS:
-loud for their size
-very little distortion at high volumes
-handy remote control
-solid, doesn't seem likely to break
-excellent sound quality
-long battery life (it is stated 10 hours, and this seems to be accurate)
CONS:
-bass is good, but no replacement for a subwoofer
-remote control must be precisely pointed at system.
-can turn on in carrying case accidentally, draining battery
Overall, I highly recommend these speakers. They are a perfect combo of small size and great sound. Good price too, especially when compared to Altec Lansing (AL has lower-priced speakers, but these are more powerful).
Customer Review: Great Solution Summary: 5 Stars
I did a great deal of research before purchasing a portable speaker system for my ipod and this was the cream of the crop for the price range I was looking for. I have a 60gb ipod and it sits nicely in the system. The sound is supurb for something of this size. The speakers are porbable so you can unplug them and take them outside or wherever you want. I keep mine in my bedroom and bring it into whatever room I'm in and want to listen to it. The only two cons about this system is that the carrying case doesn't have room for the power cord and the remote...well...it's okay I guess. You can't change the album or artist with it, but you can adjust volume and change tracks on your current selection. I would highly recommend this item. It serves the purpose I wanted them for.
Customer Review: Works with iPhone!!! (in regular mode, not Airplane mode) Summary: 5 Stars
Although it isn't advertised (as shielded to avoid speaker crackle) for the iPhone, it works great. When docked, it functions just like an iPod and the Logitech remote works flawlessly. If a call comes in, the music smoothly fades in the same manner as when you're wearing the ear buds. While playing, I had a friend text me and call me - no interference noises. I checked email as well - silent. The album art stays dimmed, but on, giving a cool look while music is playing. If the remote is used to advance to the next song, the album art swooshes to match. It also charges the iPhone while docked. Good sounding as well.
I highly recommend it if you're looking for an iPhone compatible speaker dock, but don't want to pay a premium (i.e. Bose) price.
Customer Review: Terrific Portable Sound & Great Value! Summary: 5 Stars
I've owned these for a bit over a year now, and must say that having explored each of the available "portable" speaker systems for the iPod units, I was not satisfied with any of those in a moderate price range, and couldn't justify a value with any of the higher priced units - they sounded great, but the price was just too high. Along came the mm50, and my needs were answered. Don't expect high end audio, but do expect solid sound throughout the range of this unit that will fill a moderate sized room. They come with a nice case and even include a remote, the iPod is also charged when the unit is plugged in, and they look as clean as the iPod itself. As an added bonus, they now also come in Black. These definitely answered my value question. Thank you Logitech!
Customer Review: The best on the market. Summary: 5 Stars
I was looking to spend under $[...] and looking for portability. After hands on sampling of about every similar iPod portable speaker system in several different sores (Best Buy, COSTCO, Circuit City etc...) this is the absolute best system out there. A "hands on" review is the only way to buy one of these systems as the sound quality and loudness are key. Additionally there are MANY substandard systems out there that have very poor quality & sound. Will handle all versions of iPod and has an aux jack in the back for non-iPod players. The only drawback on this system is that one can not switch out the permanently attached rechargeable battery and run it on regular batteries - don't forget that power cord on weekend trips.
