Customer Review: GREAT SPEAKER SYSTEM
Summary: 5 Stars

LET ME FIST START BY SAYING THAT YOU SHOULDNT PURCHASE THIS ITEM AT AN IPOD APPLE STORE AS THE PRICE IS ABOUT $50 MORE THAN OTHER DISCOUNT STORES...THAT SAID I DO OWN THIS UNIT AND I MUST SAY THIS IS AN EXCELLENT SPEAKER SYSTEM...I HAD THE ABILITY TO TEST ABOUT 15 DIFFERENT SPEAKER SYSTEMS WHEN I PURCHASED THIS ONE... AND NONE OF THE OTHERS WHICH MOST WERE MORE EXPENSIVE EVEN CAME CLOSE TO THE SAME SOUND QUALITY AS THE MM50...

I PURCHASED IT IN BLACK TO MATCH MY IPOD'S COLOR...THE SOUND QUALITY IS EXCELLENT FOR MY TASTE ALTHOUGH THERE ARE NO SEPERATE CONTROLS FOR BASS AND TREBLE...I REALLY LIKE THE FACT THAT I CAN UNPLUG THE UNIT AND CARRY IT ANYWHERE AND RUN THE SYSTEM OFF THE BUILT IN BATTERY...I HIGHLY RECCOMMEND THIS UNIT BUT I WOULD LIKE TO SEE A COUPLE IMPROVEMENTS, SUCH AS A SLEEP TIMER OPTION, A MUTE BUTTON AND A DIMMER SWITCH FOR THE POWER BUTTON WHICH IS VERY BRIGHT IN A LOW LIT ROOM...HOPE THIS WAS HELPFUL FOR YOU

Customer Review: Great Sound. Excellent Value.

I was fortunate enough to preview several different types of speaker systems for the iPod by taking my iPod to the Apple Store in Indianapolis. These speakers were head and shoulders above the competition in this price range. The next closest competitor was twice the price. I have since purchased these speakers and was pleasantly surprised to discover the nice case that comes included. The legs fold out and the unit is very shallow, fitting easily on the narrowest shelf. It just looks nice too.

I was also happy to see that it came with a remote. My *only* criticism of this product is the remote. There is no ability to navigate through the menus. If they had asked me (why should they? I'm just an average Joe), I would have made the remote look and navigate just like a shuffle (like Apple did with the remote for the new iMacs). Overall though I have to say I was stunned by how good these speakers performed.

Customer Review: Exactly what I needed

For me, the decision was between the mm50 and the JBL onStage II. I tried them both out in the Apple store and thought the sound on both was pretty good. I liked the fact that the JBL had touch sensitive volume buttons (the ones on the mm50 require quite a bit of pressure to press). However, since I got the mm50, I always use the remote, so now I couldn't care less about those JBL buttons.

My main reason for buying the mm50 was because of the rechargeable battery. It's soooo nice to be able to charge it up overnight by my bed, have my ipod wake me up in the morning, then just move it into the bathroom while I get ready. I live in a condo, and I can say that if I max out the speaker volume, it's loud enough to disturb my neighbors. Another thing I love about the size and shape of the mm50 is that it can fit on a very shallow shelf (although the power cord does stick out of the back a bit). Hope that helps!

Customer Review: Almost perfect travel speakers for iPod
Summary: 5 Stars

I bought it for a trip. The sound is very good considering the size. Clear and smooth midrange. Reasonable bass. The tiny remote works very well for me, in fact I found it to be indispensible, as operating my nano with it plugged in is quite awkward. One unexpected nice touch is that it has a passthrough ipod dock connector that let me copy stuff to my ipod while the it's docked. I typically dislike audio DSP stuff as it distorts the sound, but it works well (widen and deepen the sound field without adding too much to the original sound) when it's in front me. One not so nice touch is that while an aux input is available in the back, a cable is not included (so that you can connect it to a laptop immediately.) Come on, Logitech, these are not your low-end speakers, throwing a cable would make it the package close to perfect. And yeah, it would be nice if the travel case can fit the ac/adapter/charger.

Customer Review: Great Portable Sound System
Summary: 5 Stars

I just received these speakers in the mail today, and love them. I spent a lot of time researching which system is the best for the money and this is it. They are a good compromise between the IM7 which is bulky and sucks batteries (I read) and some of the smaller speaker systems, which don't sound good at higher volumes. I bought this to use mostly outdoors, at the lake and in the back yard during bbq's. I escpecially love the built in rechargable battery and the handy protective carrying case. I've seen this as cheap as $99 so don't pay much more than that at other stores. Well worth the money if you consider the Bose (no battery option) is $299 and the IM7 which takes 8 "D" batteries costs around $189-$249. If you must have that heavy deep bass sound, consider the IM7, but if you listen to music at reasonably loud levels like me, this is the speaker system for you.
