Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Logitech diNovo Mini

Customer Review: Just what I needed
Summary: 5 Stars

I was in the market to buy a new wireless setup a few months ago for my HTPC. I am glad I saw this at CES, because it was worth the wait. I didn't want a big bulky KBM combo that sits close to the couch. I have a Logitech 680 Universal remote for the purpose to keep the area uncluttered and adding the Dinovo mini helps with that task. If I was still gaming on my HTPC I may have went a different route. But I can still leave my old wireless KBM hooked up and hidden and ready to go.

I liked the fact that you can store the bluetooth USB dongle inside the battery compartment for easy travel.

The only things that I could say I didn't like was it felt light. I was kind of hoping for a little more weight like a PSP maybe. It is just a preference. I like things like this to not easily get knocked around. I also think the battery cover will somehow get busted in the future.( I have 3 kids)

I cant wait for this to be integrated with their universal remotes and I will be in heaven!!!

This product is only for certain users and you know who you are. You won't be disappointed if you buy this.

Customer Review: You never have too many gadgets
Summary: 5 Stars

This little keyboard is great. I sit on the couch with a big grin on my face because I no longer have to hang out right in front of the tv with a big unwieldy cordless keyboard and mouse. I find the touch pad to be as easy to use as that on any laptop. I love being able to move
the cursor and type with one device. It is very small, but I find it easy to type on. For those used to typing on qwerty keyboards on cell phones, this will feel huge.I am never going to use it to write papers or type long emails, but it's perfect for light browsing and media control.

I have the diNovo mini connected to an HTPC running Windows Media Center. It was simple to set up and I love the built in storage for the bluetooth dongle. It controls Media Center well, although I will still use my Logitech Harmony 880 for remote functions. I needed a keyboard to run iTunes and to use MyMovies. The diNovo fits the bill perfectly. So far, it is exactly what I was looking for, but I did a lot of research prior to purchasing so I knew what to expect.

I've only had it for a couple of days, but I have no negatives so far...

Customer Review: Best Portable Keyboard for HTPC's & UMPC's
Summary: 5 Stars

I just received this keyboard today and I've already figured a few things out. First I read a lot of complaints about the unit not staying connected when the PC goes to sleep. I had it do that for me while I was checking everything out. I have a Viliv S5 portable Slate computer. It has no physical keyboard so I wanted something to make text input and navigation easier. After witnessing the sleep issue I tried connecting the keyboard using the internal Bluetooth of the Viliv and it worked flawless. I then put the PC to sleep and woke it back up and the keyboard immediately reconnected. So I think the problem is related to the Logitech Bluetooth dongle. I then loaded the Setpoint and it worked flawless again using the Viliv's internal Bluetooth connection. I know this may be a problem for HTPC's since they usually don't have built in Bluetooth. Another great use for this keyboard would be a car PC. I plan on building one next and will make sure it has built in Bluetooth. I hope this helps for those having issues. Setpoint and the Keyboard itself is not the problem, it's the included dongle that Logitech needs to work on.

Customer Review: Logitech diNovo Mini
Summary: 5 Stars

This Logitech diNovo Mini is a great Product. I am using my 17" MacBook Pro as a media center computer when I'm not using it in laptop mode. When in Media Center mode I setup the MacBook, connect my 42" HD TV from DVI out on the MacBook Pro to the HDMI in on my HD TV. I connect the sound out to my 5.1 sound system. I can connect the diNovo via bluetooth while the laptop is open. I close the laptop and let it fall asleep. I wake the MacBook Pro with the diNovo keyboard. (You have to set up your system to allow bluetooth devices to wake your MacBook in the System Preferences). I can the run Hulu Desktop app, or Boxee or even Front Row from the diNovo. Its great to be able to watch Internet TV sites on the big screen. I don't advise this for running standard computer applications (e-mail, web browsing, etc) on the big screen because from the couch across the room even on a 42" HD TV the print is too small to read when the screen is at 1080 x 1920.. Watching internet TV is great though! There is lots of great stuff to watch on Hulu, Boxee, display your pictures and home movies for your friends with Front Row.

Customer Review: well designed for its intended purpose
Summary: 5 Stars

I bought the diNovo Mini to serve as the keyboard and mouse for the small form factor PC I've got hooked up to my HDTV. It comes with the Bluetooth adapter needed and a straight-forward software program that led me through a simple installation process.

The Mini is very well suited to this purpose. While it's quite small and rather elegant looking the keyboard is plenty big enough to be functional and backlighting the keys is VERY helpful in a darkened room. While some of the keys you'd expect to find on a full-sized keyboard can only be accessed in combination with the Function (fn) key, these too are easy to learn.

The Mini is intuitive enough that from time to time I find myself reclined in front of my 62" "monitor" simply browsing and searching the Internet as comfortably as I would at my PC.

I have not had any of the disconnection problems I've occasionally read about.

My only reservation about the diNovo Mini is that it seems a little expensive. Other than that, this is a well-designed device that easily achieves its goals.
