Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Logitech diNovo Edge Keyboard (Black)

Customer Review: Great for Multi Media PC
Summary: 5 Stars

I needed a wireless keyboard to complete my multi-media PC setup in our family room. Since we had connected the PC to our plasma TV, we found ourselves using it more and more for surfing the web, watching movies, and streaming music. Having to walk across the room and use a wired keyboard just wasn't convenient.

I read the reviews of other wireless keyboards but was afraid of interference with our wireless router. Then, I ran across the Logitech deNovo Edge that uses Bluetooth and decided to purchase it.

I could not be more pleased. The keyboard came up the moment I plugged the Bluetooth adapter in and it has performed flawlessly ever since (I've had it several weeks now).

Particularly useful is the touchpad that negates having to have a separate mouse. Even though I'm a geezer, I find the orange lights on the keyboard cool!

The charging port is small and inconspicuous and fits nicely beside the PC with the other equipment in my entertainment center.

This keyboard is of sturdy construction and fits in my lap securely; it appears to have an aluminum backing which accounts for the strength in a keyboard this thin.

I highly recommend this keyboard to anyone who wants top quality in a feature-rich keyboard.

Customer Review: Like a blade!
Summary: 5 Stars

This takes up very little space, is almost preternaturally thin, and runs for well over a month before it has to be dropped back into its included charger base.

I especially like the little touch pad, which can be used to control the mouse in a pinch (a real mouse is, in my opinion, still necessary).

The action of the keys is that of a short-throw, high-end laptop, like a Thinkpad. I love this, and I can really type quickly with it. If you like something that feels like an older electric typewriter with big keys that move a lot before registering a hit, this is not the product for you. The key action is light, but has tactile feedback. One of the best in the market right now.

When I first got it, I connected it using my existing Bluetooth adapter, and it worked fine but wasn't recognized until Windows came up and loaded the drivers. This is a problem for making changes in the BIOS and other things that happen before Windows is running. It may not happen often, but it is necessary from time to time. The solution is to use the included dongle instead. It connects to the keyboard by itself, without drivers, and makes it look like a standard USB keyboard before Windows is up. Now that I've switched to that, it works just like it was wired.

Customer Review: The Most Awesome Keyboard You Will Ever Own
Summary: 5 Stars

I'll tell it to you straight: I was extremely skeptical about spending almost $200 on a keyboard. Because it is a lot of money. However, I run through keyboards like nobody's business, and I thought that maybe I should just bite the bullet and buy a really solid, well constructed keyboard with a great warranty.

I'm here to tell you I don't regret it.

If you are thinking about buying this keyboard, just go for it. It will probably be the most smugly satisfying purchase you make this year.

As a writer, having good keyboards is really important to me. I like the look and feel of this keyboard; the keys are incredibly responsive, and it's fairly quiet, even when used at high speed. I like the backlit controls, I like the TouchDisc, although it does take some getting used to, and I love the size and heft. The accompanying software is quite solid too, making it easy to program function keys and so forth.

My only complaint about the diNovo Edge is that it does not have a number pad. If Logitech ever comes out with a model which includes a number pad, I'll be on it like a shot. Other than that, this keyboard is pretty much the most perfect and excellent thing ever.

Buy this keyboard. Just do it. You know you want to.

Customer Review: Best bluetooth keyboard on the market - period!
Summary: 5 Stars

I have used many wireless keyboards over the years for many different purposes. I recently bought the Logitch diNovo Edge Keyboard for a home theater project that required the use of a wireless keyboard. In my search I looked for something that had an integrated mouse/trackpad that was not only functional but highly usable. The diNovo exceeded my expectations for a keyboard/mouse combination! This keyboard easily integrates with Linux, with absolute ZERO configuration needed. The keys are well spaced and are easily pressed. The trackpad works like it was designed to work unlike others that I have tried.

The best thing about this keyboard is that you can recharge it with the included charging dock. The keyboard's built in batteries are really good. The amount of time that I have spent using the keyboard (probably 2 hours total) doesn't even deplete the batteries enough. The capacity of this unit's battery is high enough to go without having to charge it for a few days possibly longer under low to mild use.

If you can catch this keyboard on Amazon for around $130.00, I would snag it up! Most places are asking $160, which still isn't bad. Locally here in Kansas City I have seen it as high as $220.

Customer Review: Awesome, almost perfect, keyboard
Summary: 5 Stars

I read all the reviews before I bought this keyboard 3 months ago. This thing is great, everything I hoped for. I haven't had any of the problems or complaints that I read about except for these two things:

(1) The connection was in and out and VERY annoying. This has a simple fix, moving the bluetooth USB thingy away from the computer (I use it on a desktop) with a short USB extension cable (mine's 2ft). Apparently, if it is too close to metal (or a computer's power supply) it has trouble. I used the extension to get it a little further from my computer and it has worked perfectly since- I use my keyboard from my couch about 12ft away.

(2) The keyboard has some fancy lights for shortcuts, volume control, etc. But the keys themselves do not light up, making typing in the dark tricky. For the price tag on this baby, and since there are already lights on the keyboard I think it's pretty weak to not light up the keys, or at least use glow-in-the-dark paint.

That's it, everything else is fantastic. I think I've charged the thing once, even though I never turn it off. I don't mind the keyboard layout- it seems normal size to me and not especially weird. Well worth the money.
