I was actually very pleased with these speakers. I don't consider myself an audiophile, so as for sound quality, I cannot be a great judge, but I can say that they don't sound bad at all. No cracking or hissing. They are capable of more then enough volume for my uses.
They are solidly constructed and have the bonus of being convertible. Simply twisting the base will convert them to wall-mount. The center speaker being capable of mounting on a flat-screen monitor was also a plus.
The small corded control box was also a nice feature so I no longer have to reach around to find controls. It also has a headphone jack built in which is a great feature to have at hand.
All-in-all WELL worth the price.
Shipping was a bit disappointing since it actually DOES fall under amazon's limit for weight for super saver shipping (as the actual weight on the shipping label suggested). But even with the 20-some-odd dollars shipping, it is still a value.

I am not an audiophile so I am not extremely picky about my speakers, but I wanted to get a surround sound set of speakers. These were the best deal for around $70. They are clear and when very loud they are not distorted. This bass is powerful and can vibrate the whole floor if turned up all the way. The control pod is very useful with matrix mode which turns everything into 5.1 surround sound instead of 2.1. The base control on the control pod is also useful. These speakers are great for music and movies. I would not hesitate to buy these again for the money. Logitech Z-5500 THX-Certified 5.1 Digital Surround Sound Speaker System are the probably the best surround sound speakers money can buy, but they cost $300 on sale.
These speakers are reliable. So far I have not had any problems with them. Best value for surround sound speakers. Logitech also has great customer support.

People who have written disparaging remarks about the quality of this sound, 'not worth it' and so on have made me laugh. Glad I trusted those who spoke highly about this set. Come on people, for under $100 were you expecting a $3000 sound system?? This little set is absolutely great for a smaller room (12x24 or smaller) sound system. My son bought the first one and I have liked his so well I am now buying my own set for my room. Just watched Jurassic Park over this system on his laptops DVD player and the greatest spot was the T-Rex approaching the car, as the water in the glass vibrated, so did the floor (okay, so maybe we had it cranked up a little too loud) - it was great. That sold me on a system in my room. Cords were fine in length for this type of set-up, but if you are planning on putting this in a larger family room or basement set up for a sound system, you'd need more cords. We get what we pay for, but as far as I am concerned, this was the bargain of the year.Customer Review: Very Impressive Sound

I've been using these speakers for a little under a year now, and I'm still impressed with how well they sound. They're plenty loud enough for a bedroom (I use them mostly for playing computer games), and might even be enough for a small living room setting. The quality of sound and construction is also very impressive for such a small and inexpensive surround system. The surround sound is very precise and clear, and installation was easy and flexible; my two front speakers are sitting on the desk, the rear speakers are mounted on the wall using the rotating stands, and the center channel sits on top of my monitor. Although it doesn't look very stable, I've never actually had the center speaker fall off the monitor. My one complaint is that the cables for the rear speakers are too short, but I was able to fix that with an RCA extension cable. I've recommended these speakers to friends, and my roommate recently bought this same model and enjoys his too.Customer Review: My first 5.1 speaker set.

These are the first set of 5.1 speakers that I've ever owned. All I can say is, I wish I would have gotten 5.1 speakers sooner. Playing Left 4 Dead was awesome with the thumping bass of the shotguns roaring alongside the crisp sounds of the swarms of brain-eating zombies.
My issue was these speakers didn't work properly with my onboard realtek sound card. Then I hooked them up to my Razer Barricuda AC-1 soundcard and everything worked perfectly. Luckily, I had the Razer AC-1 from before that I purchased cheap.
Overall very satisfied, I just hope these speakers last for a few years unlike the 4 pairs of logitech headsets that all broke in less then 1 year.
