I bought these speakers at a local retailer and am very happy with them. I had originally bought them to go with my laptop computer but have since bought an MP3 player and plan to purchase a second set so I can use them with both.
They have an awesome bass range when you turn the tone switch all the way over to the full bass setting. I have a makeshift desk for my laptop - translation: a board over the seat of a kitchen chair - and I did feel a rumble in the board when I was sampling MP3s earlier. These also sound great with my MP3 player and with them set up on each side of my bed, they sound a bit like surround sound. Really cool!
I would definitely recommend them to anyone who wants a good speaker at a great price!

I wanted an inexpensive pair of speakers and after reading reviews on many different less than $40 speakers I decided I'd try these out. The TV in our room was too loud for sleeping when it was on the lowest setting which is why I wanted something that I could control and turn down. There is only a headphone jack so if you are going to use it for your TV you have to make sure you have the headphone jack to plug them into. For this purpose and casual listening, these speakers are more than enough. There is no need to spend any more unless you want something with a lot of bass for movies or game playing. Plus it is nice to be able to turn them off completely if you aren't going to use them for a while to save on energy.Customer Review: Good Speaker Value

I purchased these speakers to replace the original ones that came with my desktop computer. As I use them primarily for listening to free Internet music, I wasn't willing to spend too much on them. I had done my research and decided that the Logitech X-140 2.0 speakers would work best for me as far as product performance for the price.
I am very pleased with my purchase - good speakers for the value. The sound with Internet music is good. The sound with CD's is excellent - crisp and clear no matter how loud you turn them up. The only thing I would change about them is the red "on" light. It would have been nice if Logitech had used a different color such as blue.

As people say: "For the money..." I'm not prone to reviewing products, but I'm absolutely crazy about these speakers. Do they have window rattling bass? Not by a long shot. But the low end they provide is sufficient for a very enjoyable music listening experience. The all important midrange is clean; as is what low range there is. I'm not a gamer but as an avid music listener (mostly jazz), they provide a most musical and non fatiguing sound. I can listen to them at close range for hours at a time. If you want a good deal of (clean sounding) low end, you're going to have to spend a lot more money. But for a natural sounding, non fatiguing, close up musical sound, I can't imagine anything better.

I bought a Vizio wireless 22" LCD TV to replace my old Phillips 19". I was severely underwhelmed at the quality of the built in speakers...just one of the drawbacks, I suppose, to trying to build televisions as thin as a sheet of paper...just not enough room. Tried running the earphone out from the TV to the line in on my iHome and wasn't satisfied. Found these on sale for $15 at a brick and mortar, plugged them in and couldn't be happier. Played Avatar cranked up and thought they were near as good as my full blown 6 speaker entertainment system sound. No distortion that I've found as yet. Great build quality compared to other speakers in this price range. Very happy with the purchase.
