Customer Review: Great Wheel/Pedal Set (3 Star since G25 purchase)

This is the only set I have ever purchased and I bought another one 3 years after the first set. The first one was great and had zero problems. When I found the SportsCarGT game was included, I played it for 2 years before buying NFSPU which is even better realism and way more fun. Now I have my kids race each other through multiplayer on the home network and they love it almost as much as I do.
I highly recommend this Logitech product through amazon. The 2nd set I ordered had faulty shift paddle contacts and amazon was quick to replace without extra charges or too long a wait even though it was out of stock 2nd time around. Yeah its a bummer when you cant play with a new toy, but this is the world we live in. Now I'm going to buy another one so three can play at once.
The new one works great and does exactly what it claims. Although the new one didn't come with the game anymore and the cord design is still the same mess as mentioned by other reviewers. The axis choices and calibration controls are excellent for both sportscargt and NFSPU as well as the older NFS games I picked up on ebay for real cheap. The reviewer who had problems with pedal controls either didn't calibrate the set or didn't calibrate the game to work with the set or both. The settings are specific to the game and some setup is required in the game as well. Even if only to select the wingman as the device default. Some times the settings get messed up for one reason or another and need to be re-calibrated in the game itself. A pain yes, but not that big a deal to fix.
As far as the realism critics, the rumble and the plastic may not be like a real car, but being a porsche owner, I can tell you from real world driving experience in both snow and rain that these cars respond just like the real ones. This set lets you practice techniques without damage to your own car. Also a Great way to see how different porsche models handle if your thinking about getting an older porsche, especially with older even more rear heavy 911's. You may decide that you don't like steering with your gas pedal.
The performance for the price from Amazon is a no-brainer. Buy it and have fun. For the most realistic driving experience, move up to GTR2!

I bought it a long time ago now (almost 2 years maybe) and I have been using it on my PC, the USB connector is simply "simple" to use, I used it on some F1 and Rally games.Even MORE! the wheel is PS2 compatible so I play GT3 with it every since I discovered it......I didn't even know it was compatible until I saw a drawing of the PS2 wheel and saw it was a Logitech brand........I just connected it and it did work! Amazing!
I agree with another review when I say that it slips a little, but I managed to use a "basement" with books and some boxes, I can put it on a very comfortable position now.
Now for the feeling....ever drove at 200mph? well, so far I have reached 85mph only and I can tell you something, the problem is not the wheel, is the seat....it is great to feel the apexes, the bumps, the ground, I cannot imagine what else can you feel with just your hands. Try to play with some real gloves, balaclava and helmet and tell me what you feel now!
I am looking forward to GP4, TOCA3 and any other racing game I can play and hopefully God will bless me with an eternal whell for the decades to come.

This wheel is worth every penny and even more; $50 is a great price. I've had mine for 2 weeks now, and played it a ton. It is very well-built, and no parts are getting loose or anything. It is very easy to install; you can get it out of the box and working perfectly in about 10 minutes. Anyone who says the wheel is too sensitive/jerky must not be very good at racing; the sensitivity is perfect. The force feedback is great. I play Nascar Racing 4 with it, and when you go on the apron or hit the wall the wheel jerks around very realistically. It also doesn't take very long to get good at using it, but that doesn't mean that you'll win every race either. There's not really anything bad to say at this wheel. since Grand-Turismo3 comming out and this new steering wheel and all, I thought I'd give it a try buying one of these steering wheels to play with GT-3. shopping around for it and everyone being sold out a friend told me about this one. I bought it, hooked it up, and what do you know, IT WORKED! This wheel is compatible with the PS-2. That's if you don't care about the free speakers! i bought this wheel for very cheap ... and this is the best force feedback wheel for its money.......it even came with a free game - Sports car GT.....the buttons and shifters are easy to reach and a comfortable red grip.....it feels like your really racing the fast cars......only small problem is that you need to have the windows cd to complete the installation.....but other than that its a great wheel to buy.....especially if you have any of the NFS games!
