Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Logitech VX Revolution Ergonomic Design Cordless 2.4 GHz Wireless Laser Mouse for Notebooks/Laptops/PCs with Hyper-Fast ScrollingCustomer Review: greatest mouse ever? Summary: 5 Stars
not only is the mouse incredibly comfortable, but it has a very nice weight to it. The scroll wheel is amazing. It is definitely the best scroll wheel I have ever spun. An extra bonus are the "specialty buttons" that are continently placed on the mouse, including a forward and back button for web browsing, and zoom button, as well as a search tool. The buttons are very easy to access while never getting in the way when they are not needed. I would recommend this mouse for anybody.
The only slight drawback for use as a desktop mouse is its size. For a notebook it is perfect, because it is not to small for my hand, but it is small enough for to easily be put in your pocket or backpack or briefcase or whatever carrying devices you use. For a desktop I would have preferred the mouse to be slightly larger, but since I have large hands this may not even be an issue for many people with hands smaller than mine. However, the special features far outweigh the tiny annoyance of the size, and after a few days getting used to the mouse I would probably use this as my desktop mouse as well simply because of the convenience provided by the extra buttons.
Customer Review: best so far... Summary: 5 Stars
It is true, as other reviews point out, that the scroll wheel doesn't automatically switch on this model from free spin to ratchet.
I found that a disappointment when I first got it.
However, I left it in free spin mode and you quickly get used to it. It isn't very hard to control to go slow and it does work well to cover lots of ground fast.
It does take a deft hand to use the center click wheel button in free spin mode... but hey... humans adapt.
I like that it has thumb buttons. Hard to find a notebook mouse with that feature so far, and a center button on the wheel for easy use with tabbed browsing.
A little large for a notebook mouse... but what do do, ey?
I don't really like the slide "zoom" switch. Too hard to use and I usually don't. Doesn't provide enough feedback and feels like it will break.
Also.. it is overpriced.
I got it on sale though when it first came out and so far I am pleased with it in use.
Even with its flaws, and it being on the expensive side, it is the best notebook mouse I have come across so far.
Wait for sale maybe... and then jump on it.

Customer Review: Good, solid mouse Summary: 5 Stars
I have been using Logitech pointing devices more than 15 years. They are consistently the best quality and the easiest on my joints (since I develop software for a living). At this point I will use nothing else.
The VX is smaller than other Logitech mice (such as the MX 1000 I use at home), but it is reasonably weighted and has a good solid feel. Settings (speed, sensitivity, etc.) are quite customizable, as are all the buttons. It almost goes without saying that if you are going to use this mouse, install the accompanying software and update the software to the latest version from the Logitech website.
I especially like the way the wireless USB dongle stows away inside the mouse when not being used, also turning the mouse off to conserve the battery. As for the battery, it uses a single standard AA, and obtains a very reasonable lifetime out of it.
Even though this mouse is sold as a laptop mouse, and for which it is quite appropriate (it has a small, portable size, and packs up easily for travel), I would certainly use it as my permanent desktop mouse, if I didn't already have a really great mouse, already.
Customer Review: Love it! Summary: 5 Stars
I've had premature failures of a couple Microsoft mice, and decided I'm going to Logitech. The deal on this mouse was cheaper than an equivalent wired mouse, so I bought it for my desktop after seeing that it is essentially full-sized.
The free-wheeling scroll wheel is great! I don't want to use a regular wheel anymore. The side buttons have a perfect tactile feel/click. For me, the zoom button/slider is handy when reading small text on web pages, and the little search button behind the wheel adds one more customizeable click. This mouse glides very smoothly on my pad, and the laser tracks flawlessly. Also, I really like having the option to turn it off (small on/off button on the bottom) to conserve battery life. It only uses one AA, so I don't know how long it's going to last, but after a week of use, the monitor indicates that my rechargeable cell will last another 42 days, which would be fine with me. I'll just rotate a couple cells every couple months.
This is the finest mouse I've ever used, and I plan to buy another for work, as soon as I can get another for around $30 (after rebate, of course).
Customer Review: The best I've ever used Summary: 5 Stars
This is by far the best mouse I've ever used. The full-sized version of this mouse seemed too bulky for me, so I bought this so-called "notebook" version. The size is perfect, as it's not one of those miniature sized devices you normally see labeled "for notebooks." This is perhaps 20% smaller than a regular mouse -- just perfect if you as me. It fits the average hand perfectly (and I've shown it to some picky people!). Also, this is a LASER mouse, not just a cheap optical mouse, so the speed and accuracy is all there. As for battery life, putting in a fresh battery the software utility estimated the life at 110 days. That's pretty good for a single AA battery!
The free-spinning mouse wheel (which is weighted to keep it spinning) is really quite something. Once you get used to it, it's pure joy to use. It makes browsing pages or scrolling through long documents a breeze. Also, the buttons click with very little effort (almost a touch sensitive as an iPod wheel). Between the easy-push buttons and the smooth scroll wheel, if you suffer from tendonitis or something this may be the mouse for you, too.
