Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Logitech VX Revolution Ergonomic Design Cordless 2.4 GHz Wireless Laser Mouse for Notebooks/Laptops/PCs with Hyper-Fast Scrolling

Customer Review: Great mouse!
Summary: 5 Stars

Im not going to waste time going over all the features of the mouse because quiet frankly you can just look above this post or other user reviews to see how many feature thye packed into this thing.

I bought this mouse right after Christmas for my new notebook and like some other people I received a defective mouse. The pointer would jump across the screen excessively even after cleaning out the lense. I at first I thought it was the surface but even on desks, mousepads, and plastic this mouse still wouldnt perform at the level i've come to expect from Logitech. So I took it back to BestBuy and got a exchange for the same mouse and it works perfectly! Its smooth and receptive. One thing I really like about this mouse and wasnt really expecting was the long battery life, it can last as long as 120 days on one battery! (I think thats mainly due to the fact that its laser and not optical) That and the fact that the USB can be stored within the mouse so you dont have to carry it seperately. The only real downside I see to this mouse is the fact that the side scrolling doesnt seem to work. I tried using it in excel and internet pages and got nothing out of it, but honestly its not that big of a deal.

(BTW Buy it here, I bought it at BestBuy for $80!)

Customer Review: Solid and Versatile!
Summary: 5 Stars

This mouse stands apart for a couple features which are unfortunately tricky to utilize. The seventh "search" button behind the scroll wheel is located between the knuckles of my middle finger when operating the mouse normally, so depressing it requires moving my whole hand. Likewise, the switch toggling between scroll-wheel settings is on the bottom of the mouse, so cycling from hyper-scroll to conventional cannot be done on-the-fly. Practically I keep my wheel set to conventional both because I do not read terribly long pages/documents and because hyper-scroll seems oversensitive -- a couple times it would start scrolling away when I was moving the whole mouse vertically.

Overall, a great mouse. I have rather large hands (I used to have a huge IntelliMouse Explorer), so the VX Revolution's medium size represented a compromise for me between portability and comfort, and it performs nicely. Though I would have preferred it ship with one of Logitech's Nano receivers, the USB receiver is nevertheless smaller than the average USB memory stick and stows nicely in the back of the mouse for transport. The laser sensor seems to work great on many surfaces though I have not tried too many more complex than my jeans or carpet.

Customer Review: I'm a convert
Summary: 5 Stars

As a Mac user, with the exception of a mouse at work that we used along with proprietary software, I'd pretty much never used anything but a one-button mouse. But we recently got a new Mac laptop and the adapter on the mouse from our old one was so bent I couldn't use it, so when Logitech asked us try out their VX Revolution cordless laser mouse it seemed like a no lose proposition--if I didn't like it we were just going to buy another one anyway. Well, we won't need one. This thing is great.

There's just a tiny adapter that fits in the laptop's usb port and then the mouse itself is quite sensibly designed. The design is quite sensible with the entire pad where you place your fingers being the button and various controls and toggles for scrolling through documents easily accessible. I'm not even sure what they all do, but it performs typical tasks admirably.

My one complaint is that it didn't come with the drivers for a Mac (the cd includes only Windows software) and they weren't easy to find at the company's site. However, tech support emailed me the address from which to download the software within 24 hours and we were off and running.

Customer Review: Best Notebook Mouse I Have Ever Used
Summary: 5 Stars

This is without a doubt the best "notebook mouse" i have ever used. It combines the pros of a desktop mouse with the portability and features of a notebook mouse. For example, it has 7 buttons, a comfortable ergonomic design, and an 800 dpi laser. Along with these useful features comes a storable receiver that is smaller than most logitech receivers for desktop mouse. My only complaints are that this mouse doesn't offer higher sensitivity and sometimes the scroll wheel moves around uncontrollably when set on hyperscroll mode. Overall, it has great build quality and is worth every penny!

PROS:
- 7 buttons
- 800 dpi laser
- ergonomic
- storable receiver
- hyperscroll
- only 1 battery needed
- GREAT customer service...when i told them about my scroll wheel issue, they offered to send me an anywhere mouse mx or mx1100 as a replacement(btw i have yet to send in my mouse as first i have to locate the nearest UPS :P)

CONS:
- pricing can be a bit more than most people would pay
- when compared to the Marathon Mouse M705, the VX Revolution falls flat
- hyperscroll wheel moves randomly sometimes

Customer Review: Awesome! Comfy, responsive, customizable, and portable.

This mouse has everything you need, and more. I am a video editor and motion graphics designer, so I have logged well over 1000 hours on this thing from when I got a few years ago. The battery light indicator will always warn you before it dies. The back and forward buttons are the best; quick internet browser navigation, you can go back and forward from pages with a click of a button. You can also program custom actions in certain programs; I set the back and forward buttons in Photoshop to be undo and redo; so after many actions, I can step back or forward very quickly. The "quick search" button makes it quick to search for a phrase or word; just highlight the word, click the "quick search" button on the mouse, and your favorite search engine will automatically bring up your search results.
I have been overly pleased with this mouse and do not regret buying it for a second. It was about twice as much as it is now, and it is still worth every penny of that $80.
I use it for my laptop. When not in use, the usb receiver slides into the mouse and automatically turns it off.
This mouse is 100% AWESOME!

Yes, I would recommend this to anyone.
