Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Logitech VX Revolution Ergonomic Design Cordless 2.4 GHz Wireless Laser Mouse for Notebooks/Laptops/PCs with Hyper-Fast Scrolling

Customer Review: Simply the best...
Summary: 5 Stars

I have used many different mice over the years -- the logitech G7, V400, MX revolution, and various microsoft iterations. This is the best. Let me sum it up:

-- one AA battery lasts for months. The Logitech G7 lithium ion battery had to be switched out every 2 days. Other rechargeable mice have to be placed back in their charging stands. If you forget -- there is nothing more annoying that a mouse with depleted batteries that you cannon swap out. With this mouse, just pop in a $1 battery and you're set for 2-3 months. You can simply forget about it.

-- this mouse tracks superbly over a variety of surfaces. No mouse pad required.

-- the wireless range is excellent - in the middle of my high-rise in manhattan. I have cordless phones, wifi, bluetooth all running in the same apartment and have had no reception problems.

-- this mouse fits my hand perfectly. Perhaps if you have giant hands, this may not be the best one for you.

-- the scroll wheel is the best I have used. I keep it in the click-free spin mode and it is effortless. Perfect for scrolling through long documents.

Things I do not like:

-- the back and forward buttons are placed too close to the rear of the mouse to fit naturally under my thumb.

-- it's not good for lefties (I am a lefty but use the mouse in my right hand to use the side buttons).

Customer Review: My Favorite Mouse! Nearly Perfect!
Summary: 5 Stars

I use this mouse with my 17" Macbook Pro, and used to have another one for my Mac Pro (desktop). It's by far my favorite mouse! The only con I have is that it doesn't use Logitech's nano receiver, though the one it does use is fairly small and hides inside the mouse when it's not being used. I especially like the fact that stowing the receiver turns the mouse off, making the batteries last a long time in a laptop bag. The problem with many cordless mice without an on/off switch is that putting them in a bag causes a lot of clicking and such, which wears out the batteries quickly. Oh, and besides the fact that stowing the receiver turns the unit off and ejecting the receiver turns it on, the mouse also has an on/off switch.

When you eject the receiver, the top of the mouse shows battery level, which is nice. The scrolling can be switched from ratcheting to smooth. It comes with a soft case. It only uses one AA battery. Also, this mouse will last several months on one battery (extensive desktop usage). It's compact enough to fit smaller hands, yet is fine for average hands and may be OK for large hands, though I'd test it out in person before I bought it.

The response is perfect. I've noticed none of the delay I've seen in bluetooth mice and lesser cordless mice. If it used the excellent nano receiver, this mouse would be perfect!

Customer Review: Super Slick Mouse
Summary: 5 Stars

I was absolutely thrilled to open the box for the new Logitech VX Revolution mouse. The hardest thing about this mouse was getting it out of the protective plastic packaging. The design itself was super slick and it fit my hand perfectly - very comfortable to say the least with installation a snap and I was productively rolling along immediately - and I do mean rolling! Even from a distance the cursor itself was very precise and was `right on' in grabbing what ever point I was looking to capture for graphics, spreadsheets, or text documents.

The scroll wheel using the free spin mode made scrolling through long documents super fast almost as if you were stepping on the gas of a Ferrari (or would be, if I had one!)

I particularly liked the one touch search button making it a snap to search for keywords or phrases allowing you to pick whichever search engine you wanted to use - simply highlight the word or phrase and press the search button for instant results.

Bottom line - you won't go wrong with investing in this mouse. It is a tremendous accomplishment of engineering by Logitech a company that continues to maintain a marvelous reputation of integrity and design of topnotch quality computer peripherals.

Customer Review: Excellent Mouse
Summary: 5 Stars

I had the ever popular MicroSoft Opitical Mouse 3000 for laptops, but it got stolen. The MicroSoft mouse works very well, but is really basic.

I decided to purchase this in part because I have the full sized Logitech MX700 attached to my desktop computer and like its ergonomics and features. I also bought the VX Revolution because it because it is very cool looking. I don't think I've been happier with a mouse. It has the perfect balance of buttons, wheels, weight, battery life, and ergonomic design for use with notebook PCs.

I've had it for about six weeks and use it almost every day. The single AA Duracell battery is still fully charged. The rubber grips on the side and shape of the mouse make it easy to handle. It slides smoothly over most surfaces. The dongle which plugs into a USB port is small and stores in a slot on the back of the mouse, shutting it off. It has buttons to pull up Windows Search, to move forward and backwards on the web, and one which performs some sort of zoom function. The dongle pops out of the mouse with the push of a button on the bottom of the mouse, but has never come out accidently.

All in all, a great product.

My laptop in the HP computer backpack got stolen three weeks ago. I immediately bought another one.

Customer Review: Solid Laptop Mouse
Summary: 5 Stars

I originally bought one in mid 2007 at a local Office Max, not checking its price beforehand, for $80.
Even for that price, this is a great mouse, possibly the best laptop mouse out there right now.
Especially for people with small hands, it's light weight and small size make it ultra-portable for on the go users.
I don't really use the zoom and search features, but one key deciding factor when I bought the first mouse was the side buttons for easy web-surfing - I love the back and forward browser buttons - perfect for lazy surfers like me who hate having to scroll all the way to the upper left of the screen to go back or forward a page!
And one really cool feature is that there is a slot at the bottom end of the mouse to store the USB dongle/receiver - inserting it automatically turns the mouse off to save battery usage - sweet!
And I stated the price in the beginning as a comparison to how much it costs now - about $38 after a $15 rebate from Logitech - that's a steal!

One minor gripe is even though its got a laser sensor and is advertised as being able to work on mirrored or reflective surfaces - not really true, doesn't work for me.

Overall, its price, size, ergonomic and cool design, light weight, and portability make it one awesome mouse!
