Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Logitech V470 Bluetooth Cordless Laser Mouse (Blue)Customer Review: Logitech V470 Bluetooth Cordless Laser Mouse for Notebooks Review Summary: 5 Stars
I bought this mouse to replace the clunky Logitech optical (non-cordless) mouse I was using on my iMac. I chose Logicteck because of the excellent quality of their products. Besides for Logitech's broad spectrum of design, they also offer a great selection of mice from those with cutting edge features to those made for basic functionality.
The V470 is a bit darker in color than the advertised picture portrays. So if you've fallen for the blue light glossy blue then be aware that the actual mouse is more of a midnight metallic blue.
As for functionality this bluetooth mouse comes equipped with a four buttons:
-Left click
-Right click
-Middle click
-Tilt Left/Right click wheel
The tilt left/right click wheel button allows the user to scroll right and left in a window similar to the normal scrolling function of the click wheel.
If you're not satisfied with these options, it's okay. Logitech provides the mouse with a "Device Control Center" (a driver program) that allows you to program your the buttons of your mouse to do whatever you want. This includes opening programs.
All in all the Logiteck V470 Bluetooth cordless mouse is a great buy for those with bluetooth capable computers, regardless of whether they're a laptop or desktop.
Customer Review: Most Excellent wireless (bluetooth) laptop mouse Summary: 5 Stars
This little mouse is excellent. It has excellent battery life, excellent sensitivity, etc. It just works, and it's a delight to use. I had bought 2 other of the previous generation V270 and given them to my college student kids. (One is careful with equipment, the other is not...) They've had them for a total of 4 years and both of them report no problems. They come with a little cloth bag/container which might help protect them from scratching when packed away.
Finding a Bluetooth mouse is not trivial. With Bluetooth built in to serious laptops buying some other kind of wireless mouse makes no sense whatsoever. All laptops should come with Bluetooth built in and if you wanted a wireless mouse - Bluetooth and this model would be the way to go.
The mouse is compact (semi-small, but not the smallest I've seen) but all users, big and small hands, seem to have no problem with it's ergonomics/size.
The only negative was that the instructions do not have any hint on what PIN code to use when you first associate the mouse with the laptop via the Bluetooth connectivity app. I found this in some FAQ online. The default PIN seems like a ridiculous (and irresponsible) value to use. Is there some way to change it? I have no idea.
Customer Review: Over a year and still the best mouse to travel with Summary: 5 Stars
I travel weekly and take this mouse along everywhere I go. I have had it over a year now and literally have only had to change the batteries 4 times. By far the most efficient wireless mouse I have used, ever. By comparison I have been through 3 other bluetooth mice and some lasted only a couple of weeks, others a month, before battery change is needed.
The mouse syncs up easily to my laptop and does not exhibit the laggy delay other bluetooth mice have shown. The size is smaller than standard mice but larger than many of the tiny mobile mice.
The feel is good as well. The rubberized darker areas work well for grip and last a while. I happen to use this alot and have it scratched some from bouncing around in a bag and multiple drops and it still functions well. But the rubberized areas where my thumb fits has worn through to the glossy black plastic underneath. It still works and feels fine to me, but this is normal wear and tear to me. I like how the wheel has a tactile click when you scroll as opposed to many smooth scrolling mice where you don't know if you moved enough or too much.
Overall, you cannot get a better travel mouse for the money. Just wish we had some more color options.
Customer Review: Couldn't Be Happier Summary: 5 Stars
Before Christmas I recently purchased a brand new Apple MacBook Pro and was in the market for a new mouse. I didn't want a dongle clogging up one of my two USB ports, so that quickly narrowed it down to Bluetooth. My choices then came down to the Apple Wireless Mighty Mouse and the Logitech V470. The Logitech is $20 cheaper for pretty much the same thing. It has a third button, which is great for a program like Expose; the tilt scroll wheel is wonderful for browsing in CoverFlow in iTunes; it has an on-and-off switch to conserve battery life, which may I add is yet to run out; it has a battery life indicator; the software is a breeze to install; it wakes up when u want it to; and it comes with a microfiber sack for easy travel.
The only downside to this mouse is its size. It's labeled as a "travel" mouse, so that is to be understood. But as a 6'5'' male with fairly large hands, I would have liked something just a tad larger. This was the only Bluetooth mouse Logitech made at the time, so my choice was limited. But as a college student this is great to bring to the library or when traveling to and from home.
Nevertheless, Logitech has designed a wonderful product without the frills that just works.
Customer Review: Wonderful replacement travel moust Summary: 5 Stars
I was toting along a Apple Might Mouse for work and away from my desk mouse "needs".
Well scratch that. At first I tried the Razor Pro|Click bluetooth mouse. One thing that annoyed me to know end on that mouse was the fact that even waking from sleep, or coming out of the screen saver mode no matter how long I would wait, or move the mouse the bluetooth connection would never "reconnect" I would have to go into System Preferences and force the connection. Something I really didn't want to do all the time.
When I would first open my MacBook Pro after a long time I would have to delete the mouse and then re- add it.
So this mouse is a replacement for two mice.
This mouse feels good in my hands and I think I have larger than average hands. The configurability of this mouse puts the Razor Pro|Click to shame. Logitech including everything, batteries, DVD/CD with the drivers, travel bag, manual. The software loads a system preference where all the mouse buttons/wheels can be set to your liking.
It tracks well and much more smoothly than the Pro|Click.
I highly recommend this mouse and I will probably order a second one for the home computer.
