Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Logitech V470 Bluetooth Cordless Laser Mouse (Blue)

Customer Review: Great little mouse!
Summary: 5 Stars

I purchased this for use as an external mouse when I got my new laptop with built-in Bluetooth (a Dell Vostro 1500). There are many things I like about this rodent:

1) Since I'm left handed, I want a symmetrical mouse, one whose shape is not formed for the right hand. This mouse qualifies (unlike a lot of Logitech mice).
2) Although it is on the smaller side, it still feels comfortable in my large hand. I have hands that can easily palm a basketball, so many travel mice are unusable for me because they're too dadgum small!
3) Laser precision, and no annoying red light. Nuff said.
4) An on/off switch on the underside so you can turn it off, throw it in the laptop bag, and not have to worry about it bumping up against something, clicking, and waking up the laptop. This also helps conserve the batteries (see #5 below).
5) It's pretty miserly with battery usage. I've had this mouse about six weeks as I write this review, using it an average of about two hours a day, and I'm still on the original Duracells that came in the package.

If you want to use the side scrolling features of this mouse, you'll have to install LogiTech's SetPoint software. All basic mouse functions can otherwise be handled by the Windows default drivers.

Overall, this is a good product. I wouldn't have this mouse on my primary gaming rig, but that's not what it's designed for. It's designed for the way I'm using it...as an alternative to the trackpad on my laptop.

Customer Review: Compact, Comfortable and Very Functional
Summary: 5 Stars

Recently, I've purchased the Samsung NC10 netbook. To take advantage of the netbook's built-in bluetooth capabilities, I also purchased this Logitech V470 mouse. There is no need for us to carry along a USB wireless adapter to operate this mouse. I think that is good thing because now I don't have anything protruding out of my USB ports while carrying around the netbook. Plus, I don't have to worry about keeping track of the USB adapter if I detach it from the port. The whole idea of having a netbook is to have a highly portable device so I like having to minimize the amount of items I have to take along with my computer.

The mouse has comfortable rubber sides which feels comfortable to hold. There is a on/off button at the bottom ot the mouse to save battery life when we're done using it. Though it's been only three weeks using this, I've experienced no issues with the mouse's accuracy or battery life. It's mouse wheel can be driven in four directions. scroll the browser screen up and down by rolling the mouse vertically. Move the browser screen sideways by pressing the wheel side to side.

This mouse is a very good product and I'm so glad that I've read other reviews here at Amazon prior to deciding on purchasing this item. Logitech V470 Bluetooth Cordless Laser Mouse - consider this model when making your purchasing decision on peripherals. It is a compact, functional and very functional mouse.

Customer Review: great mouse
Summary: 5 Stars

This mouse is great.

It connected with ease. I just added it through my Bluetooth menu without using the CD, and my HP computer recognized it automatically. It remains connected, and I have not experienced any of the problems others have mentioned. I even changed the batteries just for the heck of it, only to see if it is still connected when I do so--and it was. I say I changed the batteries just for the heck of it, because I didn't need to. I have had this mouse for about two months, and it is still running on the two AA original batteries--the battery life is the best I have ever seen.

It really does work on all surfaces also (except mirrored or clear glass). It works best using a mouse pad, but also works great directly on the desk, on my leg, on glossy surfaces, on the bed, on hardwood floor, on the carpet--everywhere. Of course, the accuracy does depend on the surface--but it still works very well on carpet and glossy surfaces, which I did not expect. On most surfaces, you don't need to move the mouse that much to move it across the screen, which is very convenient for me.

It jumps ever so slightly when it wakes up, if you don't use it for a little while, but it is hardly noticeable and does not impede work, like others have mentioned.

I have not seen the build quality degrade any, even though I just throw it in my bag whenever I go anywhere. This is a very solid mouse.

Customer Review: Road Warrior that uses almost no battery juice
Summary: 5 Stars

April 19, 2010 update: This is a much better mouse than I ever imagined. This light weight, comfortable, rugged mouse has been on the road with me for over a year. I've changed the batteries three times, this thing hardly uses any battery power - even if you leave it turned on. Two colleagues have the same experience. And, the paint has never chipped on this, and I toss the silly thing around.

Yep, this is one heck of a great netbook mouse. It's got a great weight, feel, size. Just love this thing.

It goes so perfectly with my Aspire One, the color is perfect.

There was a weird moment pairing this mouse with a work computer - not able to install the Logitech software. The mouse required a bluetooth pairing passcode. Normally those are 1234 or 9999. In this case, the code is 0000. After entering that code, voila, it worked great.

I used a Microsoft notebook laser mouse with the big adapter. This is a great slimmer replacement. I like the two AA batteries in this, they add the right amount of weight.

Two adapters that work perfectly with this:
Cirago BTA3210 Class 2 Micro Bluetooth Adapter (Black Tip)
IOGear GBU421 Bluetooth 2.0 USB Micro Adapter

Customer Review: Cordless mouse that works
Summary: 5 Stars

Pros:
Function
Compact
Bluetooth
Battery Life

Cons:
My son runs off with it sometimes since there is no cord attaching it to the computer
Sometimes takes a second to wake up when it has gone to sleep

Who should buy this mouse? Anyone looking for an accurate wireless mouse for a Desktop or Laptop that wants to keep a USB port free.

My largest complaint with wireless mice is they use proprietary wireless formats that requires you to tie up a USB port with the receiver. This one does not. It uses Bluetooth that comes built into most newer computers, and it works great. To get it working on my iMac, all I had to do was put in the batteries and turn it on. The computer discovered it right away.

I have been using it for a month straight and I am still on the first set of batteries. This is far better than the Bluetooth Apple mouse I had. The movement of the cursor is precise, and everything works great. The feel of the buttons and scroll wheels is great (better than the mighty mouse in my opinion).

This mouse is the best investment in a mouse that I have made in years, and it frees up a USB port, and those with iMacs know we don't have enough powered ports. It was worth every penny.

I use this mouse without installing any of the software that came with it.
