For once, the product engineer was a common sense kind of person. The V200 is small, but just large enough that extended use does not cause hand cramps. The USB connector has the smallest profile (occupies the least space around the USB port to avoid crowding out the adjacent port -if they are spaced close together on the PC) of any I could find. Battery life is excellent, "speed" of the mouse is great, it is quiet, reliable and apparently durable. I have been using mine every work day for over a year and a half. My biggest concern is that Logitech might decide to discontinue them, and if mine were to break, I could not find a replacement. I bought a 17" screen DELL Inspiron laptop recently. I was scouting for a suitable mouse for it as using the inbuilt mouse pad was a bit difficult to manage especially when moving from one end to the other. Most of the notebook wireless mice with USB sensor I tried did not have programmable buttons. I was particular that the Center button was programmable for "Double Click" function. I wanted all other features in the mouse with programmable buttons. After getting confirmation from the importer and the main supplier I bought Logitech V200 cordless mouse. It is just superb, light, ergonomically designed and easily programmable, smooth, good range and responsive. I am glad I have it.Customer Review: battery life ... at last!

i went through a couple of different cordless notebook mice that ate batteries like there was no tomorrow before i switched to the V200. before i got the V200 i was changing batteries 1-2 times *each* week. after i got the V200 it was several months (too many to count) before i had the change the batteries. the only complaint i would have is the same one i'd have with all of the other optical mice i've ever used - they can be jumpy and are definitely surface-finicky. this mouse was the right size for my small hands - not as big as a "normal" corded mouse, and not unhealthily-small like some notebook mice. it's very portable, though, and great with heavy spreadsheet usage.Customer Review: Great laptop mouse

Been using the V200 for about a month now, and I haven't had a single problem with it. It's small and light so it won't add to much weight to your laptop bag (and less strain on your wrist), tracks perfectly on any surface that I've used (desks, bed sheets, sofas), and glides well too. And it automatically turns off when you attach the receiver to the mouse unit! I haven't had to change the battery yet, which is a good sign. The only gripe is that I would have liked thumb buttons as well (have the Logitech LX700 keyboard/mouse set, which has 2 thumb buttons on the mouse), but I don't think there are any laptop mice with thumb buttons.

Had to buy this one while on a business trip. Comparing the various notebook mice, I was most impressed by the small radio dongle and actually preferred that this mouse takes 2 AA batteries, while the Microsoft Laptop Mouse takes 1 AA battery. In my experience, a slightly heavier mouse makes tracking easier -- I tried the Logitech MX310 at one point and was very disappointed because it was way too light.
The optical sensor works very well on the Hilton tables, and has very nice sliding pads underneath. Good size, feels good in my hand, and has a REAL wheel unlike the V500. So far, I'm a big fan.
